Lutheran Homes Society Names Senior Executive Director
Lutheran Homes Society (LHS) has announced the promotion of Steve Dumke to Senior Executive Director. Mr. Dumke will have direct oversight of two of LHS’ long-term care ministries: Lutheran Memorial Home in Sandusky and Lutheran Home at Napoleon. Mr. Dumke’s primary goals as Senior Executive Director will be to drive the organization’s strategic initiatives for the two campuses, to develop new services, and to expand systems, census, and rehabilitation utilization. The Napoleon campus includes the 100-bed Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 40 Alpine Village assisted living residences, and 39 Bavarian Village independent living residences. The Sandusky campus includes a 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility and an on-site dialysis center.
Most recently, Mr. Dumke served as Executive Director at Lutheran Home at Napoleon. Prior, he served as Executive Director at Lutheran Memorial Home, Assistant Administrator at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek in Holland, Ohio, and Director of Human Resources at Wolf Creek. Mr. Dumke is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA). He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo.
Sees Selcted For Director of Nursing for The Village at Gleannloch Farms
Lutheran Social Services (LSS) has named Deborah A. Sees, RN, as director of nursing for The Village at Gleannloch Farms. Sees most recently served as a nurse consultant for five long-term care and skilled nursing facilities in the Houston and Galveston areas. As a corporate nurse consultant, Sees was a mentor for directors of nursing, provided teaching for the staff and performed medical record audits. Sees has also been the director of nursing at four different senior living communities in Pennsylvania as well as the Houston area. During her career, Sees has implemented clinical systems, has been able to improve clinical outcomes, and has been a director of the Alzheimer’s Unit. She is Tile Certified, American Red Cross CPR and First Aide certified and was certified as an Investigator for the Office of Mental Retardation in Pennsylvania.
Peyser Joins Health Dimensions Group as Senior Vice President

Omnicare Announces the Appointment of Kathleen McGuan as Chief Compliance Officer
Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE: OCR)has named Kathleen McGuan has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. Ms. McGuan will oversee and lead Omnicare’s corporate compliance function. In this role, she will be a key contributor as the Company continues to reinforce its commitment on compliance. Ms. McGuan was formerly Omnicare’s Interim Chief Compliance Officer. Previously, she served as Senior Counsel and Strategic Advisor to the Life Sciences Health Industry Group for Reed Smith LLP, a leading global law firm, at which she also practiced earlier in her career. Before that, Ms. McGuan was the Chief Counsel for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Associate General Counsel of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In that role, she served as the principal legal counselor to the Administrator of CMS on all aspects of the agency’s programs, including Medicare reimbursement to providers and suppliers, national coverage determinations, fraud and abuse, Medicaid finance, and litigation strategy in cases involving the Medicare or Medicaid programs.
Throughout her career in the private sector, Ms. McGuan has successfully guided many health care companies through fraud and abuse investigations conducted by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of Inspector General (OIG), and United States Attorneys Offices across the country. She has represented skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, durable medical equipment suppliers and managed care organizations in numerous False Claims Act cases. Ms. McGuan holds a bachelor’s degree from American University, a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a law degree from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
LHS Names New Executive Director for Lutheran Home at Napoleon
Lutheran Homes Society (LHS) announces the appointment of Nicole Giesige as Executive Director of Lutheran Home at Napoleon, a LHS ministry in Henry County consisting of independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, and rehabilitation services. As Executive Director, Mrs. Giesige will be responsible for the ongoing operations, community relations, and business development of the Napoleon campus. Prior to joining LHS, Mrs. Giesige has worked as a nursing home administrator since 2002. Ms. Giesige is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA). She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of science in gerontology with an emphasis in long-term care. She resides in Hamler, Ohio, with her husband, Tom, and daughters, Madeline and Madison.
Edgemere Names Randy Langford Plaza Administrator
Edgemere senior living community has named Randy Langford administrator of the Plaza Health Services at Edgemere. Langford joins Edgemere from Good Samaritan Society in Winfield, Kansas, where he served as nursing home administrator. In his role, he transformed a struggling facility into a successful long-term care community. He also served as senior pastor at Thorntree Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas, and worked in Business Development at SGI Protective Services in Dallas. Langford graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral theology from Hyles-Anderson College. He also holds a master’s degree in biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Buckingham names michael hernandez Executive chef
The Buckingham senior living community has named Michael Hernandez as executive chef. Hernandez was promoted from his role as Sous Chef at The Buckingham, where he has worked for the past four years getting to know the preferences and palate of the residents. Prior to joining The Buckingham, Hernandez worked for Kahala Nui Senior Living in Honolulu, Hawaii. He holds an A.S. Degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of the Pacific in Honolulu.
Springpoint Senior Living Names Pamela I. Smith Senior Vice President of Strategy
Springpoint Senior Living has promoted Pamela I. Smith to Senior Vice President of Strategy. She will be responsible for strategic planning — including repositioning and new campus development — both internally and on behalf of consulting clients. Ms. Smith served formerly as Vice President of Consulting Services for the company’s management and development affiliate, Princeton Senior Living. A resident of Warren, Ms. Smith has more than 20 years of senior housing experience. She has worked extensively with clients in the development and analysis of campus repositioning strategies and new campus development.
Montana Joins Amedisys Hospice as Chief Nursing Officer
Amedisys, Inc. has announced that 20-year hospice veteran Bridget Montana, APRN, MSN, FPCN, MBA, has joined Amedisys Hospice as the division’s chief nursing officer. In her new role, Montana will be responsible for leading the practice and provision of nursing services and clinical care for Amedisys’ 94 hospice care centers across the country. Prior to joining Amedisys, Montana served as chief operating officer at Hospice of the Western Reserve, a multi-site hospice care organization in Northeast Ohio. Over the course of her career, Montana has served in various clinical administrative roles, which included clinical oversight and program development. As a geriatric advanced practice nurse, Montana also has been involved with community organizations that provide meals as well as health and social services to the frail elderly.
Montana earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Akron, a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Arizona, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. She is a fellow of hospice and palliative care nursing, with the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, and an adjunct faculty member at the Case Western Reserve University School of Nursing in Ohio.
AHCA Elects New Board of Governors at Annual Convention
The American Health Care Association (AHCA) recently announced the results of its Board of Governors’ election. Neil Pruitt, Jr. from Georgia was elected Chair of AHCA, and Leonard Russ from New York was elected to the Vice Chair position. Lane Bowen of Kentucky was elected Secretary/Treasurer. AHCA’s Board of Governors is comprised of leading long term care providers who are elected by the membership at the association’s national convention. The four at-large board members elected are: Tom Coble from Oklahoma, Frank Romano from Massachusetts, Ted LeNeave from Virginia, and Orlando Bisbano from Rhode Island. Gary Kelso from Utah will serve as the Not-for-Profit Representative.
