Platinum Health Care to Acquire Wisconsin Nursing Home

Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family Service (WLCFS) is selling the Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center to Platinum Health Care LLC for an undisclosed sum.

“We will continue to grow and transition our Senior Services division to better reflect the needs of aging generations, while working to help seniors stay independent and healthy in their private or assisted living homes,” says Dan Degner, WLCFS CEO.  “The transition from acute skilled nursing care in a single location to expanded senior care services will allow WLCFS to better utilize our strengths to help meet the needs of our Christian community and beyond.”

Nicole Pretre, director of marketing for WLCFS told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the economic challenges of running a 144 bed nursing home with 200 employees were a factor in the decision to sell.

The two companies are working closely to ensure a smooth transition for staff and residents.

“We are committed to providing the same high level of care that the residents and families of the Care Center have received for more than 40 years,” says Jack Dudek, Director of Operations for Platinum Health Care.

The senior management staff of the Medicare.gov five-star facility will remain in place as part of the new ownership team, and WLCFS will continue to voluntarily provide for the spiritual needs of the residents of the care center.
