HUD Financing Helps New $15.6 Million Green Senior Development Open

A new $15.6 million senior development compromised of 81 one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom apartments opened last week in Baltimore County.

The Greens at Liberty Road was certified as meeting the requirements of the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and includes three units with features for sensory impaired seniors.

“Enterprise Homes is delighted to stand here today with our partners as we commemorate the grand opening of this beautiful community in Randallstown,” said Chickie Grayson, president and CEO, Enterprise Homes, Inc. “However, what is truly exhilarating about this day is not the bricks and mortar, it’s knowing that 105 senior households will benefit from living in quality homes that are safe, sustainable, accessible and most importantly affordable.”

Financing for the project was provided by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and Baltimore County.  In addition, Enterprise Community Investment provided a low income housing tax credit equity investment and permanent mortgage debt financing through the HUD.

The building includes several sustainable features, including energy-star HVAC systems, appliances and windows, low- VOC paint, “green” label carpet and water-conserving plumbing fixtures.

The property is managed by Habitat America, LLC., who oversees a resident service plan for the community.
