CIS Affordable Senior Housing Community Opens in New Jersey

Community Investment Strategies (CIS) has begun leasing Heritage Village at Seabreeze, an affordable housing community in Lacey Township, N.J.

The CIS development combines social, recreational and personal care services with housing for residents, 55 years of age and older.

CIS’ 100-unit adult apartment community offers an affordable independent lifestyle with a true sense of home, according to Christiana Foglio, founder/owner and chief executive officer of CIS. “We expect the units to be occupied faster than we have projected,” noted Foglio. CIS began construction of the community in April 2010.

The development features 86 one-bedroom apartments and 14 two-bedroom apartments, ranging from approximately 700 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq. ft. Ample parking is available onsite. Affordable rental rates start at $403 per month for a one-bedroom, and $478 for a two-bedroom unit. Rental rates are regulated by the State.

Heritage Village at Seabreeze offers what many older residents are looking for: an affordable home in a secure building with a sense of community and plenty of recreational opportunities and conveniences, according to Barbara K. Schoor, CIS vice president. For example, residents can make use of a community room to entertain guests, socialize with their neighbors and share in a multitude of other activities. Additional upscale amenities include a fitness center, wellness center, computer center, air-conditioning, library and laundry facilities. To ensure safety, an on-site superintendent and a secure entry system with video monitoring are in place.
