Carpenter to Join Omnicare as Chief Information Officer

Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR) has named Randy Carpenter to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer effective May 2, 2011.  Mr. Carpenter will be responsible for leading the Company’s information technology organization and directing several important system-related initiatives, including the identification and implementation of one billing and dispensing system and the rationalization of platforms within specialty care.  Mr. Carpenter will report directly to John L. Workman, Omnicare’s President and Chief Financial Officer.

“Randy joins us at a time when we are making significant enhancements to our system infrastructure that are designed to improve our operating efficiency,” said Mr. Workman.  “We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber and deep experience within healthcare IT lead this important initiative.  We believe Randy will be a strong addition to our management team.”

Mr. Carpenter has over 30 years of healthcare information technology experience, most recently serving as chief information officer for HealthSouth Corporation, the nation’s largest provider of inpatient rehabilitative healthcare services.  At HealthSouth, he led many major projects including a multi-year installation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning platform and a multi-year installation of a state-of-the-art clinical information system.  Prior to joining HealthSouth, Mr. Carpenter served in other healthcare roles, including corporate chief information officer for 18 acute care hospitals in Hampton, VA; chief information officer for the Air Force Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO; and chief software development executive for the Medical Systems Program Management Office in Montgomery, AL.  Mr. Carpenter served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years and left the service as a Major before joining HealthSouth.

Randy has dual bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer and information systems, as well as a master’s degree in personnel management, all from Troy State University.  He also holds a master’s degree in health informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The Legacy Senior Communities Names Louise Dunkerley Director of Sales and Marketing

The Legacy Senior Communities, Inc. has named Louise Dunkerley Director of Sales and Marketing.  Dunkerley has more than 10 years of experience in senior living sales, marketing, and community relations.  Prior to joining The Legacy, she was Regional Director of Sales for Sunrise Senior Living, where she oversaw sales and marketing activities for 15 senior communities across the country.  Previously, Dunkerley served Sunrise Senior Living as Director of Community Relations for Sunrise at Sterling Canyon in Valencia, California, and as Director of Sales and Marketing for Pueblo Norte in Scottsdale, Arizona.

She gained additional senior living experience with American Retirement Corporation as Community Relations Coordinator for Freedom Inn in Scottsdale. She also served Marriott Senior Living as Director of Sales for Village Oaks in Mesa, Arizona, and Sunterra Resorts as Marketing Manager.

Aegis Living Hires Vice President of Development

Aegis Living has announced that Michael Derr has joined the company as Vice President of Development.  In this role he will manage research and logistics for future developments helping Aegis Living to grow its senior living community portfolio.  Michael is a Seattle native earning his Architecture and Graduate Business degrees from the University of Washington and Georgetown University.  He has been a developer in the senior and multi-family housing industry for over 20 years working with Leisure Care, QFC and Trammel Crow Residential.

Integrated Real Estate Group Names Glatz as President

Integrated Real Estate Group has named Tiffany Glatz President of Integrated Senior Living.  Glatz joins Integrated Senior Living from Horizon Bay Senior Communities in Tampa, Florida, where she was Senior Vice President of Operations.  Previously, Glatz was with Seattle-based Emeritus Senior Living, where she held the positions of Regional Director of Operations, Director of Program Development, and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing.
