Formation Capital Announces New CEO

Formation Capital has hired Brian Beckwith as Chief Executive Officer, effective April 18, 2011. Mr. Beckwith joins from GE Capital where he had been Senior Managing Director of GE Capital’s Healthcare Financial Services – Real Estate team. During his 13 years with GE Capital, Brian successfully led teams in risk and sales focused on health care services and real estate financing, including developing the European platform for health care debt and real estate equity investing. Beckwith will report to the Chairman, Arnold Whitman, and Co-Chairman and President Steven Fishman. Both Whitman and Fishman will remain very active in Formation with a continued focus on new transactions and portfolio companies.

Mr. Beckwith holds a BBA from theUniversity of Georgia, an MBA from Georgia State University and serves, or has served, on the boards of te National Investment Center, the American Senior Housing Association and the Alumni Board of theUniversity of Georgia – Terry College of Business.

Stayton at Museum Way Names Move In and Relocation Manager

The Stayton at Museum Way has named Jaclyn Overby as move-in and relocation manager. Overby has been a part of The Stayton at Museum Way team since 2007, when she joined as a senior living counselor.  Prior to that, she worked at Marriot International, Inc. as a sales account manager.  Overby graduated from Texas A&M University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Information and Operations Management.

LivHOME Names Zeller as SVP of Franchising

LivHOME, Inc. has appointed Mimi Zeller to the new position of Senior Vice President of Franchising.  Zeller will lead the implementation of LivHOME’s recently launched franchising program, LH Systems LLC, supporting its growth, development and operations while providing expertise to franchise owners. Prior to joining LivHOME, Zeller served as President and CEO of Submarina, Inc., where she developed a national expansion model while directing operations, training, marketing and finance. She has also served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Mail Boxes, Etc., overseeing 3400 franchise locations, and Franchise Operations Director at Domino’s Pizza for 725 franchise locations in 8 western states.

Omnicare Announces the Appointment of Alexander “Aly” Kayne as General Counsel

Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR) has appointed Alexander “Aly” Kayne to the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.Mr. Kayne was formerly Omnicare’s Interim General Counsel and Secretary, and a partner with Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in its New York Litigation Department. He has represented firms in a variety of industries, including the insurance/reinsurance, health care, banking and energy industries. While with Dewey & LeBoeuf, his practice focused on complex commercial and securities cases in federal and state courts including cases involving federal and governmental regulatory agencies. Prior to joining Dewey & LeBoeuf, Mr. Kayne clerked on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York for the Honorable Raymond J. Dearie. He has also served as a director on the board of a public utility in New York.

Mr. Kayne graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School. While attending Yale Law School, Mr. Kayne was an editor of the Yale Law Journal.

Dayspring Names New Executive Director

Corey Elizabeth Vaillant has been named the new Executive Director of The Dayspring Assisted Living Community. A graduate of Michigan State University and the University of North Texas, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Gerontology, Corey is returning to Dayspring where she had previously served as assistant director in 2006. She has earned certifications in Assisted Living Management and Dementia Care, as well and recently finished an internship to get licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator.

Corvallis, Oregone Memory Care Community Names Executive Director

Regent Court is pleased to announce Susan Hensley as executive director at the memory care community, located near Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. With more than 10 years of healthcare and senior housing experience, Hensley is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Regent Court. Prior to joining the Regent Court team, Hensley served as program director at Dungarvin in Eugene and Springfield, Ore. Previously, she held the position of executive director at Orchard Heights, an assisted living and memory care community in Salem, Ore. In addition, Hensley was executive director for SouthTowne Living Center, a memory care community in Eugene, Ore., and spent seven-and-a-half years with Good Neighbor Care, a memory care community in Springfield, Ore., which was bought out by ElderHealth & Living.

SearStone Hires New Sales Associate and Outreach Coordinator

SearStone has named Leigh Roach as sales associate and Thom Nelson as outreach coordinator.  Leigh Roach, a Cary native, brings to SearStone nine years of experience in the continuing care retirement industry as a marketing associate at both The Forest at Duke and Glenaire.  A former nuclear engineer, teacher and university chaplain, Thom Nelson brings diverse communications and relationship-building skills to SearStone. With multiple degrees in chemistry, computer science and divinity, Nelson most recently taught computer science at North Carolina State University while serving part-time as pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary.

“Leigh and Thom are joining us at a very exciting time,” said Morgan Lamphere, director of sales and marketing. “We’ve retained Rentenbach-Wilson Construction and Poythress Construction to help build our community, and we are very close to reaching the 70-percent presold threshold required by the Department of Insurance before construction on our homes can begin. At this point we only need commitments from seven more future residents before we can go to bond financing.”

Legacy at Preston Hollow Names Mary Pace Director of Nursing

The Legacy at Preston Hollow announced the appointment of Mary Pace as its director of nursing.  Pace has many years of experience in the nursing profession. Previous to joining The Legacy, she served as the director of nursing at Northgate Plaza Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Pace has also been the director of nursing for several senior living communities and healthcare facilities including Treemont Healthcare and Rehab Center, Lindan Park, and Autumn Leaves.  She gained additional experience as the assistant director of nursing at Mesquite Tree and as the resident services director for Atria Preston Hollow. In addition, Pace was a LVN/Charge nurse at Walnut Place, a LPN/Charge nurse at Glen Retirement Village in Shreveport, and assisted living director at Heartland Health Care Center in Houston.

“We are so thankful to have Pace join our team here at The Legacy,” said McDonald. “She brings years of valuable experience and skill as the director of nursing, and I am confident that our residents are in the best hands under her care and supervision.”

Valle Verde Names New Director of Dining Services

Valle Verde has appointed Jim Craddock as the new director dining services for the senior living community.  Craddock draws on more than 10 years of experience in restaurant management, food and beverage direction, and restaurant ownership.  Craddock received an associate degree from Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, N.Y., and is known in the Santa Barbara area, where he previously worked as the owner of California Pasta, food and beverage director at the El Encanto Hotel and general manager of Miro at Bacara Resort.

“I’m excited to be a part of this team, which does a wonderful job of providing quality food and service,” said Craddock. “In my role, I’m taking something that already has a solid foundation and leveraging my expertise to expand and elevate the fine dining experience at Valle Verde.”
