Fox Run Names Deborah Nussbaum as Director of Nursing For its Renaissance Gardens in Novi, Michigan
Fox Run has named Deborah Nussbaum Director of Nursing for its Renaissance Gardens assisted living/skilled nursing facility. As Director of Nursing she is responsible for ensuring high quality of care of the residents. She also makes sure systems are in place to promote Resident and Staff satisfaction. Nussbaum, who has been a RN for more than 30 years, worked previously in the acute step down unit at William Beaumont Hospital. She has worked in all realms of long-term care – from being a Nurse’s Aide to being a Regional Director and Corporate Regulatory Director. Nussbaum is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Michigan. She is a graduate of Schoolcraft College and continuing education at Madonna University.
AdCare Health Systems Appoints Boyd P. Gentry as Co-CEO
AdCare Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE Amex: ADK) has appointed company director, Boyd P. Gentry, as co-chief executive officer. Gentry will share the new co-CEO position with Gary Wade, AdCares’s co-founder, president and chief executive officer, who is planning to retire from his management roles in mid-2011. Upon Wade’s retirement, Gentry will become president and chief executive officer, and Wade will continue as a member of the company’s board of directors. Gentry has served as an independent member of AdCare’s board of directors and as a member of its audit committee since January 2010.
Gentry is currently president of Mariner Health Care, Inc., a long-term health care provider where he has served in various capacities since 1995, including executive vice president and CFO. Prior to going private in 2004, Mariner was a NYSE-traded company with annual revenues in excess of $1.5 billion. While at Mariner, Gentry played key roles in Mariner’s acquisition and divestiture pursuits as well as financing and capital markets activities. Gentry earlier served as a senior vice president of corporate finance at NationsBank, a predecessor to Bank of America. Gentry received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and earned his MBA in Finance and Accounting from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Addus HomeCare Names Daniel Schwartz Chief Operating Officer
Addus HomeCare Corporation (Nasdaq: ADUS) has announced the appointment of Daniel Schwartz as Chief Operating Officer. Schwartz joins Addus with more than 20 years of experience across a broad range of healthcare operations, including assisted living, senior housing, skilled nursing, and home health care. For the past 15 years, Schwartz has held positions of increasing responsibility at Sunrise Senior Living. Most recently, Schwartz served as Senior Vice President of North American Operations at Sunrise, where he oversaw the assisted living community operations in the U.S. and Canada and had full P&L responsibility for North America, which included 400 communities and more than 32,000 employees. Throughout his career at Sunrise, Schwartz successfully increased profitability of the units for which he was responsible. Schwartz began his career at Life Care Services Corporation, a leading developer and manager of senior living communities, in 1990.
Schwartz earned both his Masters of Health Care Administration and Bachelor of Arts, Psychology from The George Washington University. Schwartz is a founding member of the Indiana Assisted Living Association and the National Associated for Private Duty Home Care, and a founding Board member of the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association.
The Legacy at Willow Bend Names Lisa Englander Assisted Living Lifestyle Coordinator
Lisa Englander has been named assisted living lifestyle coordinator of The Legacy at Willow Bend. Englander received her degree from University of Massachusetts and has worked for over 15 years in retail for companies such as Gap, Inc., Nordstrom’s and Sak’s Fifth Avenue in the Dallas and Plano areas.
NR – AHEPA National Housing Corporation Names Dine As Construction Consultant
AHEPA National Housing Corporation, an Indianapolis, IN-based developer of HUD-subsidized Section 202 affordable senior housing, has selected Robert Dine, principal of R.A. Dine Co., as an AHEPA National Housing Corporation consultant. Mr. Dine will assess current construction and maintenance needs and conditions of the developer’s existing apartment buildings, as well as provide construction management oversight of capital improvements including construction contract administration and construction monitoring. He is currently supervising the construction of ANHC’s new national headquarters in Fishers, IN. In addition, Dine will be assisting and providing AHEPA Management Company with project support, planning and the implementation of a nationwide preventative maintenance program.
