Always Best Care Senior Services Names Brown Chief Operating Officer

Always Best Care Senior Services  has announced the appointment of Jake Brown as Chief Operating Officer.  Brown, who most recently served as Senior Vice President at Cartridge World, will report directly to the company’s founder and CEO, Michael Newman, joining him in the primary leadership over the efforts to continue the rapid expansion of the Always Best Care franchise system.  An experienced franchise professional, Brown brings more than 20 years in franchise operations & development to Always Best Care. He has previously held various positions with several franchise companies and national brands such as T-Mobile, ePhones, California Closets, Round Table Pizza and ComputerLand.

Martha Nield Appointed Chair of PVM Corporate Board

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Martha Nield to Chairperson of the Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Board of Directors. Elected by her peers, Nield will lead the volunteer board of directors, providing PVM with direction, advice and help set goals and objectives for the organization to carry out its mission of serving seniors of all faiths and creating new possibilities in quality senior living.Nield, whose term as PVM chair began January 1, 2011, holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a teaching certificate, Master Board Certification (Governance) from Michigan School Board Association and was also a Leadership Academy Facilitator for Teachers in Southeastern Michigan.

ActiveCare Announces New Head of Sales and Marketing

ActiveCare, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ACAR) has announced that it has appointed David Gumner to head up the rollout of ActiveCare’s products to consumers.  Mr. Gumner will spearhead advertising and marketing programs, sales and distribution initiatives, and all consumer-facing communications to build awareness and adoption of ActiveCare products and services, and loyalty to the ActiveCare brand.  Most recently, David was Vice President, Mass Market Marketing and Business Development at Nature’s Way Products. At Nature’s Way he extended the specialty retail & health food focused Nature’s Way brand into the mass market, building a multi-million dollar business in food, drug, mass market and warehouse club stores.  He also worked closely with Nature’s Way’s mass market retail partners, including Wal-Mart, Walgreen’s, CVS, Rite Aid, Target and other retailers in the food, drug, mass and warehouse club channels.  Mr. Gumner began his career at Procter & Gamble followed by Kraft Foods.  David earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University and his MBA from Cornell University.

 

Long Islander Eileen Gerard Receives Spirit Award From N.Y. State Health Care Providers

Eileen Gerard of East Patchogue, NY, was presented with the 2010 Founders’ Spirit Award for her contributions to the health care industry at the 2010 New York State Health Care Providers (HCP) Conference.  Gerard, the Director of Human Resources and Regional Manager of South Shore Home Health Services, Inc. (Oakdale, NY), is active with the state association and the Long Island Chapter of HCP.  Eileen Gerard has served on the Board of Directors of HCP’s Long Island Chapter for eight years and was recently appointed Acting Chair of the HCP affiliate, Community Health Care Services (CHC).  For the past 10 years, she has organized the Long Island Chapter’s “Caregiver of the Year” event that recognizes the outstanding caregivers employed by the Chapter’s member agencies.  

At South Shore Home Health Services, Inc. where her responsibilities include oversight of human resources, Gerard organizes the company’s annual employee recognition event.  This past July, South Shore Home Health Services recognized 44 employees who have been with the agency for five years or more.
Gerard earned her B.S. in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s College.

 

Integral Senior Living Names New Vice President

position at ISL. Collette brings many years of experience in senior living to her position.

She will provide day-to-day operations and marketing oversight for the forty communities ISL currently manages.   Prior to joining ISL, Collette was with Merrill Gardens for four years,
serving most recently as Vice President of Operations. Prior to which she was with Atria Senior Living Group  as a Divisional Operations Director.   Throughout her eight year career at Atria, she held a variety of positions  including: Vice President and Regional Director of Operations, Regional Sales and Marketing Director, and Executive Director and Community Sales  Director at an Atria community.  She began her career with Harrah¹s Entertainment as a Hotel Sales Manager.  She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Business Management and is RCFE certified.
