Sunrise Extends CEO Employment Agreement

Last week, Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE:SRZ) disclosed in a SEC filing that it has renewed and extended the employment contract of CEO Mark Ordan.  The contract was extended through December 2012 and he is set to receive a $3 million re-signing bonus and options to purchase 1 million shares of stock at $4.94.  Ordan’s base salary was set at $650,000 in addition to various fringe benefits.   For the full details, visit:  Ordan Employment Agreement

Lilly Named Executive Director for Watermere at Southlake

Laurie Lilly was recently named executive director of Watermere at Southlake.  Lilly graduated with a degree in business administration from Dallas Baptist University and brings more than 20 years of management experience to Watermere at Southlake. She has most recently served as regional director for Greystone and Avenir Groups overseeing multiple communities nationwide. Her previous leadership positions were with Classic Residence by Hyatt and Marriott SLS as general manager.

“I am very excited to take on the leadership position of executive director at Watermere at Southlake,” said Lilly. “The staff and residents are welcoming, and I hope to uphold the impressive name and reputation that Watermere has established.”

Omnicare Names John G. Figueroa Chief Executive Officer

Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR) announced that John G. Figueroa has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2011 and will serve as a member of Omnicare’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Figueroa, who most recently served as President of the U.S. Pharmaceutical Group at McKesson Corporation, will replace James D. Shelton, who has served as Omnicare’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since August 2010. Mr. Shelton will remain with Omnicare as the new Non-Executive Chairman of its Board of Directors and assist Mr. Figueroa during the transition period.

Figuroa has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 20 years. In his current role at McKesson, he oversees more than 7,000 people and a $90 billion business. Prior to that, he held a number of different positions at McKesson, including President of National Account Sales and Packaging and Senior Vice President of the Southwest Region. John has also held several executive positions during his seven-year career at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Deerfield, Illinois and has served as an Officer in the United States Army.  Mr. Figueroa has dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of California in Los Angeles, California and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

 

D2 Architecture Names Patrick Donnell as Project Architect

Patrick Donnell Formal 2 D2 Architecture has named Patrick Donnell as project architect. Donnell has more than 30 years of experience in the field of architecture.  Donnell is heavily involved in the construction phases of senior living projects. His current work is on The Stayton at Museum Way, a senior living community in Fort Worth to open in 2011.

 

 

 

 

Senior Lifestyle Paves the Way for Continued Growth with Executive Promotions

Chicago-based Senior Lifestyle Corporation has announced the promotion of three senior managers to executive vice president, while Chairman Bill Kaplan resumes the role of chief executive officer.

Keven Bennema, 41, advances from chief operating officer to executive vice president/chief operating officer.  Bennema, who started his career in the seniors housing industry as a caregiver, now oversees operations at more than 70 Senior Lifestyle communities across the country. The portfolio includes independent and assisted living as well as rehabilitation, skilled, memory and continuing care. Previously head of operations for California-based Summerville Senior Living Services, he joined Senior Lifestyle in 2007.

Tom Danker, 56, advances from chief financial officer to executive vice president/chief financial officer.  Danker, a certified public accountant, oversees accounting, financial reporting, taxation, investor relations, information systems and risk management for Senior Lifestyle. He came to the company in 2007 from California-based Kisco Senior Living, where he was executive vice president and chief financial officer.

RonnDa Peters, 51, advances from corporate director of marketing to vice president of marketing.  Peters oversees development of websites, brochures and advertising for Senior Lifestyle and its communities. She also directs community outreach plans, forms business partnerships, and trains sales and marketing staff for each location. Before joining Senior Lifestyle’s corporate team six years ago, she was a sales program manager with Wisconsin-based Alterra Healthcare.
