Ingleside at Rock Creek Expansion Begins in DC

Ingleside_Rendering_2010-02-16This week, the Ingleside at Rock Creek announced the commencement of construction on an expansion project for 15 new luxury independent living apartments in the Northwest neighborhood of Washington, DC.  The project, expected to be completed by fall of 2011, will be known as the McCracken Apartments and units in the project will vary in size from 1,600 to over 1,800 square feet.  Designed by architect Shalom Baranes Associates from Washington, DC, the apartments will have five different floor plans and have balconies that overlook Rock Creek Park.

"Moving to a senior living community used to mean losing considerable living space with a studio-style or efficiency unit," says Ann Schiff, executive director and health care administrator of Ingleside. "We’re reversing that trend. Seniors, especially those who live here in the District, want to leave the hassles of homeownership behind, not their cherished possessions.  We’ve already received deposits for more than half of the apartments."
