Senior Housing News is pleased to announce that it is moderating a panel for senior housing / home automation at the upcoming Silvers Summit at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 8, 2011. Silvers Summit, part of the Living in Digital Times program at CES, features panels, presentations, and interactive demonstrations on products and services ranging from a unified health care format to home security, aging with technology and more both in panel sessions as well as on the convention floor at CES.
The session entitled “Creating the Smart, Aware Home” will cover home automation and connectivity for improving safety, securing and quality of life for seniors and their caregivers and discuss connectivity both inside the home and with outside connections. The session, being moderated by SHN’s George Patton, will include the following panelists:

The Silvers Summit’s keynote speaker Dr. Gary Small, a leading neuroscientist and director of the UCLA Center on Aging at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, will discuss the impact of constant connectivity on the brain and the ways our technology age is changing consumers’ lives. Attended by over 350 people last year, the Silvers Summit continues to build momentum as a place to debut new senior technology for consumer use at the Consumer Electronics Show.
