National Senior Fitness Day is this Wednesday, May 26 and many communities are celebrating by participating in various special event by over 100,000 older adults at more than 1,000 locations throughout the United States. In its 17th year, National Senior Fitness Day is the nation’s largest health promotion event for older adults and is organized as a public-private partnership by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national information clearinghouse for the older adult market. Hospitals, park and recreation departments, senior centers, health clubs, retirement communities, houses of worship, health departments and other community locations are promoting events to help keep older Americans healthy and fit.
Providers such as Classic Residence by Hyatt are offering specific programming during the day with walking programs, exercise clinics, demonstrations, speakers and wellness classes.
