Greenblock® Worldwide Corporation announced that its Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Wall System has been selected for use in the new senior community featured at the Yuma Senior Terraces in Yuma, Arizona. This private, resort-style neighborhood will feature 60 apartment homes and a “Community Life Center”, each designed and built with Greenblock high-performance insulated concrete form exterior walls. According to Greenblock, ICF construction can reduce energy bills by up to 70 percent, block exterior noise, and are extremely disaster resistant. The owner, Foundation for Senior Living LP of Phoenix Arizona, along with architect Whitneybell Perry and general contractor Tofel Construction, have worked together to develop the community. Construction of the first apartment homes is underway and the community is scheduled to open in November 2010.
"Greenblock ICF walls are a perfect choice for this community," says Steve Reiter, vice president of marketing for Greenblock. "Residents will not only enjoy the energy saving benefits of ICF construction but will also have the peace of mind of living in a home that will keep them cool and comfortable in Yuma’s desert heat”.
