SL Residential, Inc., an affiliate company of Snyder Langston, a large builder in Southern California, announced it has completed construction on Valencia Terrace, a 9.4 acre, 203-unit, 275,000-square-foot full-service senior living rental campus consisting of both independent and assisted living units. SL Residential served as the general contractor for the project on behalf of Kisco Senior Living.
The architectural design of Valencia Terrace is reminiscent of a Spanish hacienda with exposed beams and high ceilings in the entryways and lobbies to accentuate the wing configurations of the 181-unit main building that also provides residents with vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Twenty-two duplex and triplex casitas are arranged around the main building and feature complementary design with colors and textures that reference the same Spanish style. IPA (Irwin Pancake Dawson Architects) served as the architect of record on the project. The largest of the casita models (“the Bolero”,original concept design by JZMK Partners) won the National Association of Home Builders’ 2009 Best of 50+ Housing Awards competition for Best Attached Home at an Active Adult Community.
“The Valencia Terrace project provided SL Residential with an opportunity to expand its brand of building high density residential communities into the senior living market. This is a logical and strategic transition for us given the growing demand for senior housing. We see this as the first of many opportunities to construct the highest quality senior communities for our clients and their residents,” said Bryan Pruter, project manager for SL Residential.
