Warner Design Associates (WDA) received three 2009 BANN-ER awards on the Cascades of the Sierra development in Spanish Springs, Nevada. The facility won awards for Best Commercial Interior Design, Best Finish Work and Best Multi-Family project from the Builders Association of Northern Nevada . WDA worked closely with the Cascade Living Group and LRS Architects to create a comfortable, functional, and site-specific design for its newest 240-unit senior community. The design emphasizes both an active approach to retirement living and the rugged sensibilities of the West.
The project’s design features a grand two-story lobby and ample seating areas complete with rock fireplace mantels, rustic wood plank floors, beamed ceilings and a palette of warm, rich earth tones reflect the community’s scenic environs. Throughout the entire community, the finishes, furnishings and accessories selected reflect its rustic aesthetic to reflect a lifestyle retirement community at the foot of the Sierras.
“The overall experience is of a lodge retreat, with the conveniences and technology of a modern home and a look that fits perfectly in western Nevada,” said Cynthia Warner, owner and principal of WDA.
