The Amsterdam at Harborside, a six-story, $259 million life care community, recently announced that it has more than 50 percent of construction complete. The Amsterdam will have 229 independent living apartment homes and is the first life care community in Nassau County and only the ninth such community in New York state, is on schedule to open in the third quarter of 2010.
“It’s thrilling to see the community taking shape before our eyes. The reality is much better than we ever dreamed,” said Mary Donovan, director of marketing at The Amsterdam at Harborside. “Construction has been moving at a rapid clip, so when future residents visit, they can see how much progress has been made on the community. They’ve been looking at floor plans, renderings and scale models of the community so it’s exciting for them to see the community coming to life.”
