Aegis Living, a national provider of retirement and assisted-living communities, recently announced the development of Segovia, a new eight acre upscale residential community for seniors in Palm Desert, California. The $60 million community will provide seniors with various services, amenities, and a choice of residential home plans that blend innovative and elegant design with resort-style, independent living. The community’s main building has 211,000 square feet with a 50,000 square-foot underground parking garage. There will be 117 apartments in the main building and the sizes of the apartments will range from studios at 486 square feet up to two bedroom units at over 1,800 square feet. The builder of the community, Oakmont Senior Living LLC, provided architectural services that combines classic Spanish influences with resort style amenities.
"We wanted the design to reflect Spain and draw in the best of the desert to give our residents the feeling of vacationing at home," said William P. Gallaher, Oakmont president and CEO. "Our experience as a senior living builder let us design a beautiful community and still build with the specific needs and interests of our residents in mind."
