Newly Constructed Senior Living Community Opens in Detroit

The Village of St. Martha’s Senior Living Community recently celebrated its grand opening at the end of July.  This newly constructed, three-story building was made possible through a $5.4 million grant awarded by the U.S. Development of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is located on 22 acres that may be used for future development. With this support, St. Luke’s Canterbury Healthcare, Inc. and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) are able to provide government-subsidized housing to persons 62 years of age or older.  The Village of St. Martha’s offers 45 apartment units with, emergency call system, individual heating/cooling system, fully equipped kitchen, community room (with kitchen), library/computer room, cable access, and barrier free apartments.
