What happens when the “Not In My Back Yard” (NIMBY) attitude lands on the internet these days?  How about a blog written and updated by local residents opposed to the development of a senior facility…not something totally new but at a minimum poses a nuisance albeit a threat.  We ran across one called the East Vincent Residents Against Continuing Care Retirement Community Blog.  The blog was relatively well written and organized with factual data links to links to municipal documents and proposed amendments to ordinance amendments, summaries of meetings and a calendar of future dates where residents could express their opinions.  If you look at the site, the opponents have been following and tracking the proposed development for over 2 years.  Was there any sort of unique arguments associated with the development? No.  But the site should serve as an example to marketers and developers of what they might face out on the internet by technologically competent opposition.
