Housing Authorities and Agencies Begin Announcing Use Of Stimulus Funds For Senior Housing

As money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development begins being distributed to housing agencies across the country, many local agencies and politicians are eager to demonstrate that stimulus money is being put to work quickly for important project for low and moderate income constituents.  Last week, leaders of the Tacoma Housing Authority held a press conference in which they laid out plans to spend about $4 million in economic stimulus money to improve 350 senior residences in its portfolio. 

Tacoma Housing Authority’s executive director stated that they will begin working on the seven senior apartments soon that will have its crews repairing and upgrading various systems to help improve and enhance the lives of seniors.
