The senior population in Delaware continues to grow and has fueled the development of the 207 unit, 226,000 square foot Hockessin project. The Sunrise Senior Living development is currently awaiting zoning approval and is hoping to begin construction in 2009.
The design of the center will follow the Victorian architecture from Sunrise’s previously completed Delaware facility and feature assisted living services and specialized care units for Alzheimer’s patients. This multi-purpose project will have 80 units dedicated to independent living and will try to bridge the gap between that independent living, assisted and skilled care of Alzheimer’s patients.
With the proximity to Philadelphia and Wilmington, this project should provide a viable senior community for the tri-state area’s growing senior population that can afford amenities that Sunrise provides in many of its projects.
