New Jersey town demographics drive Senior Housing Projects

Thank goodness there are people with foresight on planning for their town’s growing senior citizen population and Buena, New Jersey is a terrific example.  The state’s growing senior citizen demographic is good news as far as borough development policy is concerned. Almost six years ago, the borough put out a welcome mat for builders eyeing the senior citizen residential market.  City official think that the borough’s location and amenities make senior living developments a viable option and provides residents and revenue for municipal services meaning a win-win for both the town and the seniors.

The town has worked with developers on 3 separate projects ranging from apartments, manufactured homes, and a mixed use residential / commercial complex.  All three projects are located within a mile of each other and hope to draw seniors into the community of the area with so many units in proximity.
