Looming Senior Housing Shortage in California?

An article in the Sacramento Bee raises a concern that there may not be enough Senior Housing supply for its aging population over the next 40 years.  City officials estimated that the number of Seniors who may require some type of specialized housing is expected to triple during this time period.  While Sacramento is the state capital, consider some of the other larger areas of California where land and space are more scarce and expensive at the same time.  Expand this scope to Arizona and Florida, the next two most populist senior states, and think about how the face of housing is going to change over the next 40 years.  Smaller homes?  New communities and models?  Interesting to ponder, especially in high cost areas like California and Florida.
