Drever Capital Management to Open Senior Housing Near San Antonio

Drever Capital Management has announced plans for an active senior living community, Larkspur at Gateway, which is to be located in Live Oak, Texas.

The development will include a 64-unit memory care community and an intergenerational adult and child daycare center that will offer interaction between seniors and children.

The project is scheduled to break ground in late 2017 and open in early 2019.

Assisted Living Community Planned in Chicago

A new assisted living community is in the works for Chicago.

Senior Shared Living is opening the Spaulding House Assisted Living Facility in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, according to a press release.

The Spaulding House will offer “luxury residential assisted living,” the release notes.

New Senior Living Community Coming to Eastern Virginia

Landbridge Acquisitions, a Georgia-based developer, is planning to build a new independent living, assisted living and memory care community called Phoenix at Yorktown in York County, Virginia.

Local officials recently gave the 170-unit project the go-ahead, reports the Daily Press.

Affordable Senior Housing Planned in Philly

A proposal to build a 46-unit affordable apartment building for seniors in Philadelphia is steadily moving forward, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

If all goes according to plan, the developers behind the project would open it in 2020.

Senior Living Communities Coming to Georgia

Work is now underway on The Oaks at Ashton Hills, an Oaks Senior Living assisted living and memory care community in Covington, Georgia.

Oaks at Ashton Hills will begin taking residents in summer 2018, according to a press release. Atlanta-based architectural firm Stegenga + PARTNERS is designing the community.

About 55 miles west in Powder Springs, Georgia, another community is also taking shape.

Work is starting on a $37 million, 154-unit assisted living, memory care and independent living community, reports MDJOnline.com, a local news publication.

Ground Broken for Cedarhurst Community Near Chicago

Workers recently started construction on a new senior living community in Yorkville, Illinois.

Cedarhurst of Yorkville, a Cedarhurst Living community specializing in assisted living and memory care, is expected to open in fall 2018, according to the Kane County Chronicle.

The 73-unit community will have access to amenities such as restaurant-style dining, a movie theater, library, game room and a salon.

Clayton, Missouri-based Dover Development is developing the community, and St. Louis Design Alliance is the project’s architect.

Balfour Finishes Senior Living Community in Denver

Balfour Senior Living has put the finishing touches on a senior living community in Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood, according to a press release.

The announcement came from Northstar Commercial Partners, the developer on the project. The community will offer support for residents with Alzheimer’s and other kinds of dementia. A public grand opening ceremony will be held on Sept. 21.

In addition to the new community in Stapleton, Northstar is currently working to finalize another development for Balfour in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That community will be a $51 million, 151-unit residence, and construction is expected to begin this year.

Maplewood to Host Grand Opening for Massachusetts Community

Maplewood Senior Living is scheduled to host an Aug. 23 grand opening party for its Mill Hill Residence, a Maplewood At Mayflower Place community in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

The 75-unit senior living residence consists of a mix of private assisted living apartments as well as additional memory care support, according to a press release.

Amenities include an open-kitchen and display dining venues, bistros, a wellness center, spa and salon, libraries and stone fireplaces. The community also features water views, outdoor gardens, courtyards and a walking trail.

Affordable Senior Housing Opens in Northern Illinois

Richmond, Illinois, has a new housing complex for low-income seniors.

Developer Novak Construction recently celebrated the opening of the affordable older adult apartments, according to a press release.

The apartments have access to “concierge amenities” such as transportation services, case management, medical screenings, health and fitness resources.
