Watercrest, United Properties Teaming Up on Florida Community

Operator Watercrest Senior Living Group and developer United Properties are teaming up to open a 128-unit luxury senior living community in Naples, Florida, the companies announced jointly.

United Properties purchased the property in 2016. The two companies plan to break ground on the project in November and begin taking residents in early 2019.

When it opens, Watercrest Naples will be “a signature Watercrest product,” with 96 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments, according to a press release. Design elements and amenities are set to include a promenade, fireplace, water wall, multiple dining options, pool, salon and spa, grand balconies and “Florida-style” outdoor living spaces.

Starling Developing 140-Unit Independent Living Community in Florida

Starling, a senior living owner and operator with communities in Florida and Tennessee, is scheduled to break ground soon on a 140-unit independent living development in Nocatee, a master-planned community in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

The development will be adjacent to Starling at Nocatee, a 92-unit assisted living and memory care community opening this later this year, according to a press release.

Independent living residents can enjoy amenities such as restaurant-style dining at multiple venues, a full-service bar, resort-style pool, a wellness suite with a spa, salon, massage room and fitness studio and outdoor amenities like a resident gardening area, pet park, walking trails, fire pit, pickle ball, bocce ball, yoga and an outdoor kitchen.

Work is scheduled to start this September.

Artis Senior Living Community Planned in Chicago

A 136-unit assisted living and memory care community from Artis Senior Livinfg is moving forward in Chicago.

Local officials recently awarded the senior living project a construction permit, reports Curbed Chicago.

Senior Lifestyle Proposes More Senior Housing Near Chicago

Senior Lifestyle Corporation is looking to build a new 200-unit community in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Illinois.

The company seeks to develop a $77 million community that would have independent living, assisted living and memory care units, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Dominion to Break Ground on Second South Carolina Community

Knoxville, Tennessee-based Dominion Senior Living is set to break ground soon on a $10 million faith-based community in Clemson, South Carolina, its second in the state.

Dominion Senior Living at Patrick Square will come with 49 assisted living apartments and 17 apartments designed for memory care, a press release reads. Amenities include enclosed courtyards for residents, a landscaped garden, covered porches and a salon/barber shop.

Dominion is scheduled to open the community in the fall of 2018.

Douglas Wilson Companies Begins Building Community Near San Diego

Douglas Wilson Companies has broken ground on its first senior housing project, a 111-unit assisted living community in Chula Vista, California, the company announced.

The $30 million yet-to-be-named campus will consist of 85 apartments for assisted living and 26 units for memory care. Amenities and services will include a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. restaurant, outdoor dining, community garden, courtyards, bistro and juice bar, library, fitness area, reading and game rooms, a beauty salon and barbershop, and scheduled visits from a nurse practitioner.

Douglas Wilson Companies expects to open the community late next year.

Goodman Group Breaks Ground on Rehab Facility at Florida Community

The Goodman Group is adding a Medicare-certified transitional care unit to its Terracina Grand community in Naples, Florida.

The addition, called Gardens at Terracina Health & Rehabilitation, will have 30 beds designed for post-acute hospital stays.

The addition is scheduled to open in late summer 2018.

MorningStar Senior Living, Confluent Senior Living Break Ground on Oregon Community

Confluent Senior Living, a subsidiary of Confluent Development, and MorningStar Senior Living have broken ground on a new senior living community in Beaverton, Oregon, which is just outside Portland.

The project will bring 104 assisted living and memory care units to the Portland area and marks the first MorningStar Senior Living community in the state, according to a press release.

The community, MorningStar of Beaverton, will offer amenities that include a fitness and wellness center, massage and therapy room, salon, library and game room, theater and chapel, walking paths and courtyards with resident gardening areas and outdoor barbecues.

Confluent is the project owner and MorningStar will serve as the operator. Currently, the community is slated to open in September 2018.

Work Underway for New Tapestry Assisted Living and Memory Care Housing in Florida

Workers with Roger B. Kennedy Construction recently broke ground on assisted living and memory care additions and renovations at the Tapestry Tallahassee Walden in Tallahassee, Florida.

The two new buildings will both span three stories and add 89 new assisted living and memory care units when completed in March 2018, a press release reads. The work will also include new outdoor amenities, including secure courtyards and gathering spaces.

Clubhouse Renovations Underway at Springpoint Community in New Jersey

The Oaks at Denville, a Springpoint Senior Living community in Denville New Jersey, recently announced it has broken ground on a $3 million project to upgrade and renovate its clubhouse.

The renovation makes way for new dining venues and an expanded fitness room, massage room, enlarged locker rooms and new beauty salon, according to a press release.

Senior Lifestyle Opens Kansas Community

A new Senior Lifestyle Corporation community has opened in Overland Park, Kansas.

The Sheridan at Overland Park held a grand opening ceremony on July 20, according to a press release. The new Senior Lifestyle community features memory care, chef-prepared meals and multiple entertainment and club rooms.

Erickson Claims Virginia CCRC Largest in the Nation After Addition

Ashby Ponds, an Erickson Living developed and managed community in Ashburn, Virginia, this month celebrated the opening of its tenth residential building, Cherry Blossom Square

The continuing care retirement community (CCRC) also has two other residential additions on the way, making it the largest of its kind in the nation, Erickson said in a press release.

The addition of Cherry Blossom Square, Birch Point, and Cypress Ridge residential buildings will total 273 new apartment homes and include amenities such as modernized kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances; full-sized, side-by-side washer and dryers; walk-in closets; and custom flooring and fixtures.
