Virginia Life Plan Community to Expand

A life plan community in Lexington, Virginia, plans to expand by building 30 new cottages.

The cottages will have front porches, bay windows in the kitchens, large living and dining areas and en-suite master bedrooms, according to a press release.

The community, Kendal at Lexington, is an affiliate of the Kendal Corporation.

New Assisted Living Community Taking Shape Near Chicago

A new assisted living community planned near Chicago has moved one step closer to opening.

City officials unanimously recommended that CJE Senior Life, which is affiliated with the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, move forward with its plan to build a 240-unit community in Deerfield, Illinois, reports the Chicago Tribune.

As planned, the community would include an indoor swimming pool, general store, coffee shop, a beauty and barber shop, a library, computer room, a coffee shop, exercise facilities and a wellness room.

Southern Indiana to Get New Senior Housing

Legacy Living of Indianapolis is scheduled to break ground on a new assisted living and memory care community in Jasper, Indiana.

Workers are slated to start building the 110-unit community in November, reports the Dubois County Herald.

Amenities will include a chapel, fitness center, cafe and bistro, movie theater, library, and beauty salons and barbershops.

New Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Campus Opening in Nebraska

Developers plan to break ground soon on a new assisted living community and skilled nursing facility in Kearney, Nebraska.

Vetter Health Services of Omaha got the go-ahead from local officials to build Brookestone Gardens Retirement Campus, according to the Kearney Hub, a local news publication.

LCB Breaks Ground on New Hampshire Community

LCB Senior Living has broken ground on a new assisted living community in Dover, New Hampshire.

The independent living, assisted living and memory care community will include 75 residences and represent an investment of more than $50 million, reports Fosters.com, a local news site.

LCB is based in based in Norwood, Massachusetts, and operates 19 assisted living communities throughout the New England region.

Washington Life Plan Community Completes Expansion

Timber Ridge at Talus, a resort-style life plan community in Issaquah, Washington, recently completed a sizable expansion.

The renovations bring the retirement community to 331 independent-living residences, according to a press release. The expansion also included upgraded wellness and fitness areas, a new aquatic center, a 190-seat auditorium, expanded dining venues and underground parking, which are all exclusive to residents.

San Francisco Gets Affordable Housing for LGBTQ Seniors

New affordable housing for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer seniors has arrived in San Francisco.

Openhouse LGBT Senior Housing, Community, and Services is billed as the country’s first affordable housing community for LGBTQ seniors, reports Curbed San Francisco.
