Seattle Community Getting $30 Million Facelift

Transforming Age, a nonprofit that owns and operates 11 senior living communities in Washington and Minnesota, is planning some big upgrades for Parkshore, one of its properties in Seattle.

The $30 million renovation project includes an aerobics room, green roof, social dining space, and a partially open pool connecting an indoor pool to the outside, according to a press release.

Transforming Age also plans to add new dining options, an art gallery, a movie theater, and a 15th floor bar with views of nearby Lake Washington.

Dominion Building Two New Communities

Construction is now underway at two Dominion Senior Living communities located in Kentucky and South Carolina.

Crews recently broke ground on Dominion Senior Living of Florence, a planned faith-based senior living community in Florence, Kentucky.

The two-story community is expected to cost about $10.3 million and will offer assisted living and memory care services in 60 apartments. Dominion Senior Living of Florence will also have a “sophisticated electronic health record-keeping system and a specially designed nurse call system,” according to a press release.

The Florence community is currently slated to open in the fall of 2018.

The Knoxville-based company also plans to open a $10 million assisted living and memory care community in Clemson, South Carolina, according to the Upstate Business Journal.

If all goes according to plan, that community would open in the late fall of 2018.

New Senior Housing Coming to in Alabama

Phoenix Senior Living and developers Kirco and Kirco Manix recently broke ground on The Bluffs at Greystone, an independent and assisted living community in Birmingham, Alabama.

When it opens in in July of 2018, the community will have 132 units and such amenities as an indoor pool, wellness center, beauty salon, yoga studio and a demonstration kitchen, an announcement notes.

Crews Begin Work on Maplewood Senior Living Community in Manhattan

Maplewood Senior Living and Omega Healthcare Investors (NYSE: OHI) broke ground on Inspir | Manhattan, a luxury senior living community spanning 23 stories and 212,000 square feet of space in the heart of New York City.

The high-rise community will open with 215 units of assisted living, enhanced care and memory care residences, according to a press release.

LCS Opens $40 Million Community in Northwestern Indiana

Representatives of Life Care Services, developer Ryan Companies and Harrison Street Real Estate Capital recently celebrated the grand opening of a new $40 million senior living community in Schererville, Indiana.

The community, Clarendale of Schererville, cost $40 million and includes 177 independent living, assisted living and memory care residences, according to a press release.

Clarendale also has amenities such as a movie theater, restaurant-style dining choices, an arts room, fitness center and a pub.

Sunrise Unveils San Diego Community

Sunrise Senior Living has put the finishing touches on its newest San Diego community, Sunrise of Sabre Springs.

The community is Sunrise’s fourth in the city and will serve up to 100 residents with assisted living and memory care services, according to a press release.

Renovation Project Complete at Community Near San Francisco

Members and staff of the Terraces at Los Altos retirement community in Los Altos, California, are set to celebrate the completion of a $100 million expansion and redevelopment project later this month.

The multi-phase renovations included 81 new residential apartments a fitness center and spa, restaurant-style dining venues, library and a movie theater, an announcement notes.

The community is owned and managed by ABHOW, a nonprofit corporation that focuses on senior housing and health care.

Stand-alone Memory Care Community Opens Near Detroit

Local officials and executives from American House Senior Living Communities and REDICO have cut the ribbon on a new memory care community in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

The new stand-alone community, American House Freedom Place Rochester, consists of 40 studio and shared rental apartments and has an “open-concept” floor plan with two dining rooms and a private courtyard.

California Community to Unveil New Memory Care Units

Senior living provider be.group is poised to open a new memory care community at Redwood Terrace, its continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Escondido, California.

Along with the new memory care suites, the expansion and redevelopment includes a new fitness center, garden and refurbished indoor therapy pool, according to a press release.

The community, The Grove at Gannon House, is open to residents across all levels of living within Redwood Terrace.

Stonecrest Adds Senior Housing in St. Louis

Stonecrest Senior Living has opened a new assisted living and memory care community in St. Louis.

The community has a range of upscale amenities that include restaurant-style dining, a game room, an exercise room, a library and a movie theater, according to local news site STL News.
