Luxury Senior Housing Developer Sets Sights on Little Rock Area

Abby Development, a luxury senior housing builder, owner, and operator, has plans to break ground on a new “resort-style” seniors housing campus near Little Rock, Arkansas.

Workers are poised to break ground on the new community, Arabella of Conway, on a 14-acre lot in Conway, Arkansas, which is about 20 miles north of Little Rock. The planned community will feature 20 independent living cottages, 48 assisted living units, and 24 memory care units.

Planned amenities include a stocked fishing lake with walking trails, landscaped courtyards with water features, a movie theater, pharmacy and general store, salon, library, and rehab center. Residents also will have access to housekeeping, transportation, laundry services and chef-prepared meals.

Abby Development is slated to start construction later this year.

$100 Million Facelift Planned for Florida CCRC

Village On The Isle, a nonprofit continuing-care retirement community, is planning to undergo a huge new renovation.

The nonprofit seeks to add 46 new independent living residences and a brand new health center as part of a $100 million makeover of its 16.5-acre campus in Venice, Florida, according to the Herald-Tribune.

Senior Living Community Proposed Near Los Angeles

A new assisted and independent living facility could open in Redondo Beach, California.

Local officials there have proposed building a “community for older adults,” according to local news publication The Beach Reporter. The project is still in its planning stages.

Though it wasn’t determined how large the community might be, officials have acknowledged the need for more senior living in the community.

Three Assisted Living Communities Planned in St. Louis

A trio of developers are looking to build new assisted living communities in the St. Louis area.

Mount Carmel Senior Living and Clarendale at St. Peters are seeking to open new assisted living communities in 2018 and 2019, respectively, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Meanwhile, The Woodlands of Arnold is seeking to expand its campus in nearby Arnold, Missouri, to include a new 48-bed assisted living complex.

The developments would represent a total senior housing investment of about $25.2 million.

LCS Development Plans New Jersey Community

Senior housing builder LCS Development has its eye on a plot of land in New Jersey.

The Des Moines, Iowa-based company is planning to build a 223-unit assisted living, independent living, and memory care community on a wooded 38-acre property in Bridgewater, New Jersey, according to local news site MyCentralJersey.com.

The plan still needs approval from local officials before it can move forward.

Atlanta’s Senior Housing Market Heating Up

Georgia Senior Living is looking to build a new 186-unit continuing care and independent living retirement community called The Meadow in Duluth, Georgia.

The development would include independent living and assisted living units with activities and an open dining area, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post.

And that’s not the only senior housing poised to arrive in the area. Another assisted living facility is coming together just a short drive away.

Green Implementation Group seeks to build a 79-unit assisted living community in Brookhaven, Georgia, reports the Brookhaven Post.

Additionally, Kolter Homes broke ground on a new clubhouse at its Cresswind Peachtree City community near Atlanta. The new clubhouse is set to wrap up construction early next year and will feature resort-style amenities such as an outdoor pool, amphitheater, bocce courts, a fireplace and grilling area, tennis and pickleball courts, and miles of walking trails, according to a press release.

Iowa Community to Expand Into Memory Care

Rotary Senior Living, a residential care and skilled nursing community in Eagle Grove, Iowa, is looking to build a new memory care expansion.

The expansion will include units equipped to accommodate Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, according to a press release.

Memory Care Community in Maine Planning $7 Million Expansion

Woodlands Memory Care, a community in Farmington, Maine, is looking to grow.

The proposal would add 48 residential care beds and 18 assisted-living apartments, according to the Franklin Sun Journal.

Nonprofit to Open 222-Unit CCRC in North Carolina

RiverWoods Group, a nonprofit, has plans to open a 222-unit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Durham, New Hampshire.

The community, which would be called RiverWoods Durham, is proposed for an 11-acre plot near the city, reports Fosters.com, a local news publication.

Allegro Expands to St. Louis Suburb

Allegro Senior Living recently broke ground on its 12th community overall and first in the St. Louis area.

The St. Louis-based provider, which operates 11 other properties throughout Florida and Kentucky, started construction on a new community that will contain dozens of assisted living and memory care units. First occupancy is expected in the fall of 2018, Allegro noted in a press release.

The new 4-story community will include “luxury accommodations” like a bistro and bar with outdoor balcony dining, theater, fitness center, full service salon and spa, and therapy services.

Work Underway at Canada’s Tallest Senior Housing Community

Quebec is set to get a towering senior living community in the fall of 2018.

Réseau Sélection is constructing a new 30-story, $94 million community called Sélection Panorama, according to Canadian site Real Estate News Exchange. When the senior living community opens, it will be the country’s tallest.

The community will open with 286 units. Penthouses will range between roughly $275,000 to about $650,000, and the building’s rental apartments will run between $1,245 and $4,000 per month.

HHHunt Breaks Ground on $29.4 Million Senior Living Community in Maryland

Developer HHHunt announced it broke ground on a new senior living community in Crofton, Maryland.

The forthcoming community, Spring Arbor of Crofton, will have room to serve 95 residents in assisted living and memory care units. The community also will feature amenities like a life-skills kitchen, daily activities and programs, and a courtyard with water features, covered seating areas, walking paths and space for gardening.

Spring Arbor of Crofton, which is currently slated to open in July of 2018, will be HHHunt’s second senior living property in the state and its 22nd community overall.

Construction Underway at SoCal Community

Santa Maria, California, will have a new senior housing community by this time next year.

Workers recently began construction on the forthcoming Villa del Sol Senior Apartments, reports the Lompoc Record. The 193-unit campus will include a pool and spa, clubhouse, yoga studio and dog park.

Crews Break Ground on Community Near Milwaukee

Workers have started building a new 100-unit senior living facility near Milwaukee.

The Oaks at Shorewood held a groundbreaking ceremony on May 5 to celebrate the new community. As planned, The Oaks will feature amenities that include underground parking, a library, a fireside lounge, a theater room, a game room, a fitness center, a yoga studio, and community spaces, reports North Shore Now.

Enlivant Opens Newly Remodeled Community in Washington State

National provider Enlivant has opened a new community in Spokane Valley, Washington.

The assisted living and memory care community, Ridgeview Place, was recently remodeled and includes amenities like a bistro, community dining room, and a beauty shop, a press release notes. The community offers social events, activities, and a multitude of services. The community also has scheduled transportation is for shopping, banking, special activities, and events, and is pet-friendly.

Integral Senior Living Opens Community Near St. Louis

Integral Senior Living announced it opened a new senior living community in the St. Louis suburb of Town and County.

The new community, Stonecrest of Town & Country, has fully furnished units equipped for assisted living and memory care. It also features outdoor living spaces, a theater, a fitness center, a spa, a bistro, a coffee bar, and a library, among other amenities.

Stonecrest is also nearby local restaurants and shopping, places of worship, and hospitals.

Construction Wraps Up at $17.3 Million Community Near Tampa

Workers recently put the finishing touches on a new community just outside of Tampa, Florida.

NEI General Contracting announced it wrapped up construction at the Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center, 179-bed skilled nursing and memory care community in Lutz, Florida.

The campus has “neighborhoods” with their own dining and activity areas in addition to amenities like a spa room, tranquility and therapy room, outdoor areas and a mobility garden. Additional perks for residents include a cafe, a private dining and conference room, a beauty salon and barber shop, and a putting green.

California Community’s New Life Center Dedicated to Former Administrator

Mount Miguel Covenant Village, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community operated by Covenant Retirement Communities, dedicated its recently completed $19.1 million Life Center to Paul V. Peterson, its retired president and former Mount Miguel administrator.

The Peterson Life Center, which was completed earlier this year, serves as the community’s hub and includes a grand entryway with a fireplace, a baby grand piano, an enclosed courtyard with a fireplace, a water feature, and umbrella-covered seating.

The center also has three dining venues, an art studio and art gallery, a library, a wellness center and fitness studio, an outdoor resort-style pool with two lap lanes, a Jacuzzi, and locker rooms. Other perks include a 24-seat movie theater, a game and billiards room, and a “kids’ corner” for visiting children.
