Thrive Senior Living Community Planned

A memory care community in Marietta, Georgia is planned. The Thrive Memory Care at East Cobb will have a home-like feel with a living area, dining area, sunroom and outdoor deck overlooking a pond.

The location of the community will be in a reengineered former hospice facility and will include 25 private suites for residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Thrive at East Cobb is currently taking reservations for residents.

Senior Living Coming to Myrtle Beach

Frontier Management and LIV Development have teamed up to plan a 225,776-square-foot master-planned senior living community on almost 13 acres of land in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

LIV at Grand Dunes plans to include 83 assisted living apartments, 32 memory care apartments, 138 independent living apartments and 24 cottages that adults from the surrounding communities will have the opportunity to live in.

Frontier Management will manage the community once complete.

Senior Living Community Gets $1.4 Million Update

Located in Sarasota, Florida, Aviva: A Campus for Senior Life is going through a rebranding which includes $1.4 million in upgrades.

Upgrades will include renovations and improvements in amenities and campus grounds. A second phase of the project will include an integrated center for health and wellness as well as a multipurpose room that will hold more than 225 people for resident and community events.

The updates are anticipated to be complete by the end of March.

Memory Care Community Nears Completion 

Thrive Senior Living is almost done with its newest memory care community located in West Chester, Ohio.

Thrive Memory Care at West Chester will provide care to seniors living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. There will be 60 suites in a home-like atmosphere.

There will be three neighborhoods that each feature a kitchen, dining room, living room, activity areas, and access to the outdoor park.

Senior Living Community Gets $35 Million Facelift

A Kisco Senior Living continuing care retirement community in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, named La Posada, is undergoing a $35 million expansion and renovation project.

A large part of the expansion will be a new four-story building, Mallorca at La Posada, which will have 54 apartment homes ranging in size from studio to two-bedroom floorpans.

The clubhouse at La Posada will also be renovated to include a free-standing 3,400-square-foot wellness center with locker rooms, a workout space with views of the lake as well as a pool. A new bar, lounge area, display kitchen and a walking path that loops the entire campus will also be constructed.

The project is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2018 and pre-sales for Mallorca began on the first of the year.

Resort-Style Senior Living Community Opens

In the San Jose neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida, a resort-style assisted living and memory care community is now open.

StudioSIX5 is behind the design of the community, which features apartments with high ceilings, spa showers, washer and dryer, and kitchenettes. Other amenities include chef-prepared meals, restaurant-style dining, a salon and spa, outdoor living spaces and a wine tasting program.

Watercrest Senior Living operates the community and Starling Senior Living owns it. PQH Group was the architect for the project.

The community was planned in 2014 and opened at the end of summer 2016.

Pathway Senior Living Holds Grand Opening

Located in Grayslake, Illinois, CA Ventures LLC and Pathway Senior Living opened a 96-unit assisted living and memory care community, Travanse Living.

The $28 million community has 68 assisted living residences, 29 of which are studios and 37 of which are one-bedroom/one-bath units and two-bedroom/one-bath units. All suites in assisted living include a kitchenette with granite countertops, stainless steel refrigerator and microwave, and bathrooms have roll-in showers as well as grab bars.

The memory care portion of the community is on the third floor of the community and has 28 units, 20 of which are studios and eight are companion suites. The companion suites include two separate bedrooms, two separate bathrooms with a sink and toilet and a shared shower. The floor is also set up as two households, each with its own dining room, kitchen, activity area with laundry access, living room with TV and lounge seating and a sunroom.

Travanse Living was designed by Chicago-based Worn Jerabek Wiltse Architects.

Auditorium at Senior Community Complete

A life plan community located in Issaquah, Washington has completed the construction of a new 8,100-square-foot auditorium.

The auditorium at Timber Ridge at Talus has 190 seats and is part of the $154.5 million phase II expansion at the community.

Other additions in phase II include 145 additional independent living apartment homes, an expanded health center, a larger dining vent and an indoor swimming pool. Those additions are all nearing completion.

New Memory Care Community Opens in Washington

Located in Bellingham, Washington, Silverado has opened a new memory care community that will provide care for as many as 80 people.

The property is located on a four-acre plot of land and was designed with ample natural light to help reduce anxiety in memory care residents.

Other amenities include coffeehouse style bistros, a beauty salon, sap, walking paths and a playground for family visits.

Bellingham is now accepting new residents.
