“Chris has been in key leadership positions in post-acute companies for a couple of decades,” Mathies said in a news release. “His experience, combined with his body of work at Consulate, provides a well-matched set of skills for the future needs of the company. He is not only intimately aware of our strengths and weaknesses as a health care company, but he has established a very strong relationship with our management team, which contributes to my confidence that Consulate will continue to strengthen and grow under his leadership.”

Additionally, Consulate appointed Todd Mehaffey as COO. He formerly served as the Florida division president for the company.

Mathies will remain involved with Consulate as executive chairman to facilitate the leadership transition, provide strategic counsel to Bryson, and be available to investors and business partners as needed.
