Senior Community Planned in Hanover Park, Ill.

A master-planned community for adults ages 55 and over is planned in Hanover Park, Ill.

Verandah will have independent living, assisted living and memory care components. There will be two-story townhomes, single-level villas and condos available for sale.

The $40 million community will include amenities such as a community room, fitness center, theater and community walking paths.

The project will break ground this fall and Kinzie Builders, a division of Kinzie Real Estate Group, will act as general contractor.

Verandah is anticipated to be complete in 2018 with pre-sales for the townhomes and condos beginning next year.

Construction To Begin on Senior Community in Tennessee 

The Villages at the River Club, a senior living community located in Clarksville, Tenn., will begin phase one of construction in the coming months.

Goodworks Unlimited, LLC, will be developing the community on a 15.7 acre plot of land next to the River Club Golf Course in Clarksville. Phase one will include a 77-suite concierge senior neighborhood.

Most of the suites will have a view of the golf course and will provide concierge services for its residents. Other amenities of The Villages will include a restaurant, bistro, bar, fitness room, billiard parlor, theater, multipurpose room and golf putting green.

Future phases will include villa neighborhoods, an assisted living facility as well as a memory care community. Phase one is planned to be open for residents in late 2017.

The Villages will be owned by Clarksville Senior Living.

Community in Michigan to Add Memory Care Wing

The groundbreaking for a memory care wing at Canterbury on the Lake, located in Waterford, Mich., will be held next week on Oct. 3.

Renovations are expected to cost $8.3 million and be done by Elzinga & Volkers, a construction management firm.

The new wing will be 24,000 square feet and include 32 memory care beds as well as a private courtyard for its residents. The project is set to be completed in fall 2017.

Welbrook Senior Living Plans New Community Across Country

A new Welbrook Senior Living facility in Bloomington, Ill., is set to open in fall 2017. The $4.5 million project will include 54 assisted living beds and 26 memory care beds.

The El Segundo, Calif.-based company, is also planning to open a handful of other locations by summer 2017. Welbrook is planning two more locations in California, one in Arizona, one in Colorado and one in New Mexico.

Assisted and Independent Living Community Undergoing $8 Million Expansion

Colonial Senior Living, located in Henderson, Ky., is undergoing an $8 million expansion project to create an assisted living facility. The current facility has 69 suites and 22 indecent living apartments.

The new facility will be 49,000 square feet and will add 51 assisted living suites. The new building will be one level with no stairs. Some rooms will have private walk-out patios.

Other amenities will include a therapy gym where therapists will be able to come to the community to assist residents in exercises without having to bring their equipment with them.

Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of November.

Construction on $15 Million Stonecrest of Rochester Hills Begins

Located in Rochester Hills, Mich., Stonecrest of Rochester Hills is now under construction. The assisted living and memory care community will be 78,342 square feet and include 87 private apartments.

The apartments will be broken down into a 32-unit memory care building and a two-story assisted living building with 55 units of one and two bedroom suites.

The $15 million project will include amenities like an arts and crafts room, beauty salon, movie theater, cyber cafe, exercise room, outdoor kitchen, memory care courtyard, two assisted living courtyards, a putting green and outdoor grills.

The project expects to be complete in September 2017. The Douglas Company is the general contractor for the project and the designer is Pi Architects.

Seabrook Retirement Community Opens Solar Farm

Located in Tinton Falls, N.J., Seabrook Retirement Community celebrated the opening of its new solar farm that is situated on the perimeter of the campus.

The solar farm includes 13,000 solar panels on about 15 acres of land at Seabrook. The new system will produce 20% of Seabrook’s annual electric load, which will save the community nearly $250,000 per year in energy costs.

The project was funded and installed by KDC Solar of Bedminster.

The CCRC is home to over 1,4000 and one of the 19 communities managed by Erickson Living.

Completion of $30 Million Senior Living Community in Hawaii Announced

A new independent living, assisted living and memory care community is now open in West Oahu, Hawaii.

Ilima at Lehano has 84 residences on a 3.8-acre campus, 16 of which are memory care apartments.

The apartments in the community range from 410- to 995-square feet and layouts include studios, one-bedroom units with one bathroom and two-bedroom units with one bathroom. All of the apartments allow pets.

The project began in June 2014 and was designed by G70, formerly known as Group 70 International.

Ilima at Lehano is owned and operated by Kisco Senior Living.
