Presbyterian Homes Plans $49.5 Million Redevelopment Project

GracePointe Crossing, a Presbyterian Homes & Services senior living community, is planning a redevelopment project in Cambridge, Minn. The first phase of the project is expected to being in the fall. The community offers senior apartments, assisted living and memory care apartments, skilled care suites and a transitional care center.

Phase one will include a new care center that will serve up to 179 long-term residents and short-term guests in a home-like setting. The building will replace two other buildings currently on the campus. There will also be an additional 50 senior apartments built as well was a town center, which will feature a chapel auditorium, a bistro, wellness center, salon and theater.

To make room for the improvements, 10 townhouses will need to be eliminated. The project is designed by Insite Architects and the general contractor is Adolfson & Peterson Construction.

New Senior Living Community Planned in Hendersonville, Tenn.

A new $40 million senior living community is planned to open by spring 2018. Clarendale of Hendersonville is being developed by Ryan Companies US, Inc. and its partner, LCS.

The community will be on about 11 acres of land and will include 184 senior living residences for independent living, assisted living and memory care. Some amenities at Clarendale of Hendersonville will include restaurant-style dining, a crafts room, bistro, pub and billiards room, club room and library.

Clarendale of Hendersonville will be managed by Life Care Services.

$24 Million Expansion Planned at Cedar Rapids Retirement Community, Iowa

Cottage Grove Place, located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa announced a $24 million expansion to mark its 20-year anniversary. The project will add 90 units to the existing 237 units in this CCRC as well as a three-story building addition.

The addition will expand the community’s assisted living, independent living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing, and memory care services. Currently, Cottage Grove Place consists of two buildings containing 166 one- and two-bedroom apartments for independent living.

The LifeCare community also has 19 assisted living apartments and a 52-unit skilled nursing center, which includes 12 beds designed as low-stimulus for residents with Alzheimer’s or other age-related dementia.

SQLC Retirement Community Expansion Underway, Houston

The expansion of a Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation (SQLC) retirement community is underway in Houston. The Buckingham project is estimated to cost $72 million and add 183 new residences. The expansion follows The Buckingham acquiring six additional acres of land.

There will be 106 independent living apartment homes, 27 assisted living suites, 18 memory care residences and 32 private skilled nursing rooms.

The first phase of the project is anticipated to open during the first half of 2017. Although construction is not finished, the new independent living tower is already 75% pre-sold.

Cornerstone at Barnegat Hits Halfway Mark, N.J.

A new affordable rental community for seniors ages 55 and older is halfway done with construction. Developed by Walters Group, Cornerstone at Barnegat in Barnegat, N.J. will have 70 units once complete.

The community is being constructed on a five-acre site and will offer one-and two-bedroom units with balconies. There will also be a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse on the premises that will have amenities such as a kitchen area, game room, state-of-the-art fitness equipment and a conference room.

Cornerstone at Barnegat is scheduled for completion in mid-December of this year. The Walters group is managing every aspect of the project from design and construction to property management.

New Perspective Living Breaks Ground, West Fargo, N.D.

A new senior living community broke ground last week in West Fargo, N.D. New Perspective Living of West Fargo will have 133 units  comprised of 86 apartments for seniors and 48 memory care units.

The community will include a bistro, pub and a warm-water swimming pool to be used in conjunction with a physical therapy program.

The project is being developed by Eden Prairie and is scheduled to be completed by February 2017.

New LCB Senior Living Community Celebrates Grand Opening

Located in Salem, N.H., The Residence at Salem Woods, an LCB Senior Living community, celebrated its opening last week. The community is 76,000 square feet and includes 84 apartments in a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences.

The community will also feature a reflections memory care wing and is located within the town next to the Salem senior center.

The Residence at Salem Woods was design by The Architectural Team, Inc., and is the seventh ground-up construction project by LCB Senior Living since 2013.

$60 Million Expansion at CCRC, Redmond, Wash.

Emerald Communities finished the expansion of one of their CCRCs, Emerald Heights, in 2014 and have recently reached a milestone. Within the last two years, the community has become 98% full.

The Redmond, Wash. community’s expansion included 43 units for independent living, a new health services clinic, a full-continum-of-care addition, a fitness center, auditorium and new dining venue.

Emerald Heights is home to more than 550 older adults and is situated on 38 acres of land. Emerald Communities also operates another community in the area called Heron’s Key, which is currently under construction.
