Lancaster Pollard Adds 2 Bankers to Philadelphia Office

Lancaster Pollard, a financial services firm that helps health care, senior living and housing providers with financial advice and financing solutions, added Miles Kingston and Tony Ruberg to its Philadelphia office.

Kingston and Ruberg will be providing seniors housing and health care clients with a full range of investment banking, mortgage banking, private equity, balance sheet financing and merger and acquisition advisory services. Kingston will be responsible for clients in Pennsylvania, and Ruberg will be responsible for clients in New Jersey and Delaware.

Before joining Lancaster Pollard, Kingston was a commercial loan officer and assistant vice president of health care lending at Metro Bank in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Ruberg previously worked in the commodities hedging and risk management division of Huntington National Bank as an associate director before making the switch to Lancaster Pollard.

“Miles and Tony are experienced bankers with a keen understanding of the seniors housing and health care sectors,” Ken Gould, senior managing director at Lancaster Pollard, said in a statement. “As our new business development officers, they will enable us to continue expanding our presence in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.”

Avanti Senior Living Announces 3 New Team Members

Avanti Senior Living, a senior living development, operations and ownership company, announced three new team members at its newest community, Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound.

Vicki Lee King has been named executive director. She will be responsible for daily operations at the new community, overseeing the care of each resident, making sure resident needs are met, maintaining health codes and regulations, making managerial decisions, providing leadership for fellow team members and helping family members. King brings more than 20 years of experience in health care services to the position, previously having served as executive director, residence director, marketing director and community relations director for senior living communities in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area.

Sheila Ricketts has been named community relations director. She has over 21 years of experience in health care services, sales and marketing, including more than 12 years in senior living specifically. In her new role, she will assist Avanti in conducting outreach, building relationships and maintaining positive relations with current and prospective clientele. Before joining Avanti, Ricketts served in sales and marketing positions with companies specializing in senior living, hospice, memory care and more.

Renee Rachels has been named family and resident advocate. She will serve as a liaison for residents, their family members and the Avanti team, helping to fuse out-of-the-box ideas and meet the needs of residents.

“These three ladies will help us in our mission to be change agents in senior living by redefining the lifestyle available to residents at Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound,” Lori Alford, COO of Avanti Senior Living, said in a statement.

Avanti Senior Living at Flower Mound is currently under construction and expected to open in fall 2016. The community is located in Flower Mound, Texas.

Masterpiece Living Welcomes New Sales Manager

Masterpiece Living welcomed Courtney Timm to its business development team as sales manager.

Timm joins Masterpiece Living with an extensive and diverse background at various for-profit and not-for-profit health care sectors over the past eight years. Most recently, she worked as the assistant director of independent and assisted living at Lourdes-Noreen McKeen Residence in West Palm Beach, Florida, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) served by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm.

“We’re excited to have Courtney Timm on our business development team at Masterpiece Living,” Clark Lyons, national sales director, said in a statement. “Our company has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, and we’re looking forward to having her expertise support our national sales and marketing initiatives.”

Masterpiece Living is a multi-specialty group that partners with more than 80 organizations across the country to support them as centers for successful aging.

Lantern Hill Hires Hospitality Team

Lantern Hill, a new Erickson living retirement community located in New Providence, New Jersey, announced the hirings of Pam Marusic as resident services director, Christine Loprete as hospitality team leader, and Gerri Madsen as concierge.

Marusic will be responsible for oversight of several departments at Lantern Hill, including hospitality/front desk, concierge, transportation, security and fitness. Prior to joining Erickson Living, she worked in two Northern New Jersey retirement communities in various capacities. She is also a licensed nursing home administrator in the state of New Jersey.

Loprete will be tasked with the daily activities at Lantern Hill’s lobby desk. She joined Erickson Living after working in the hospitality field in hotels, restaurants and senior living throughout New Jersey.

As concierge, Madsen will coordinate daily activities and events with Lantern Hill residents. She most recently worked for Pathways, a nonprofit organization that provides services for women who have cancer.

“We are excited to welcome Pam, Christine and Gerri to our dedicated and talented team at Lantern Hill,” Executive Director Patricia Swan said in a statement. “They have outstanding experience and are passionate about our mission of creating a community where our residents can enjoy a dynamic and secure retirement lifestyle.”

Residents will move into the 161 independent living apartments of Phase 1 in summer 2016, followed by the opening of 85 continuing care residences. Within the first few years, Lantern Hill will add 114 more independent living apartment homes, for a total of 275 units.

Timber Ridge Appoints New Fitness Coordinator

Timber Ridge at Talus, a life plan community located in Issaquah, Washington, appointed Robin Luthi as fitness coordinator.

In her new role, Luthi will be tasked with the coordination and implementation of all fitness and wellness programs at Timber Ridge. She will also provide one-on-one training and fitness assessments and lead group exercise classes.

Luthi has more than five years of experience in the fitness industry. Most recently, she served as a health fitness specialist at EXOS-MediFit. She is also a certified personal trainer.

Timber Ridge is a 184-residence community offering independent living apartments and short- and long-term skilled nursing onsite.

Roland Park Place Names New VP of Health Services and Wellness

Roland Park Place named Jennifer Labute as its new vice president of health services and wellness.

Labute joins the team at Roland Park Place with more than 20 years of experience in health care and aging services. She spent 17 years at LifeBridge Health, where she worked her way up from an administrative assistant to vice president of nursing home operations. In her new role, she will oversee all health care and wellness endeavors.

“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Labute to Roland Park Place,” President Terry Snyder said in a statement. “Her depth of experience with older adults in residential and clinical settings is valuable as we refine plans to create specialty care areas during the first phase of our major renovations and expansion project. Her penchant for clear communication with residents and their families is especially needed at this exciting time of redevelopment for our community.”

Roland Park Place is a full-service, not-for-profit CCRC located in Baltimore, Maryland. The community offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing.

Elder Care Alliance Hires New VP of Business Development and Strategy

Elder Care Alliance, a nonprofit integrated system of assisted living and memory care communities, hired Rosemary Jordan as vice president of business development and strategy.

Jordan brings more than 20 years of experience in operations and business strategy at organizations in senior living, health insurance and health system industries. She most recently worked as senior director of clinical quality network and support at Blue Shield of California. She also held executive roles at Lumeris and Kaiser Permanente.

In her new role, Jordan will be responsible for strategic planning and helping to drive the execution of strategy related growth and diversification of service mix.

“We are delighted to welcome Rosemary to the Elder Care Alliance family,” President and CEO Adriene Iverson said in a statement. “Rosemary has a strong track record in driving business growth and her extensive knowledge of the senior care and health industries will be a great asset to both our residents and the broader organization.”
