The Top Salaries in Assisted Living

CEOs of assisted living communities top the charts when it comes to yearly earnings, while staff nurses make the most on an hourly basis, according to research from the Hospital and Healthcare Compensation Service.

The 18th Annual Assisted Living Salary & Benefits Report consists of responses from 1,286 assisted living communities—1,153 for-profit and 133 not-for-profit—which provided compensation data on 64,362 employees nationwide. Data included in the report covers 20 management and 29 non-management positions.

Dementia personal care aides saw the greatest increase in compensation overall at 3.55%, from $11.69 an hour in 2014 to $12.10 an hour in 2015 among the same group of participants year-to-year, according to the report. Meanwhile, maintenance supervisors experienced the most significant drop in salary at 4.18%, followed closely by marketing representatives at a 3.71% decrease. Marketing directors, on the other hand, had salaries increase by 3.44% between 2014 and 2015.
