Lancaster Pollard Promotes Robert Baxter and Ryan Miles to Senior Vice President

Lancaster Pollard, a financial services firm that help health care, senior living and housing providers with financial advice and financing solutions, has announced the promotions of Robert Baxter and Ryan Miles to senior vice president. 

Baxter joined Lancaster Pollard in 2005 and has focused his efforts on senior living analysis and underwriting, providing support on a range of mortgage loans and bond transactions for rehabilitations, acquisitions, construction and refinance projects.

Miles joined the financial services firm in 2006 and has been instrumental in the closing of a wide variety of affordable housing transactions using low-income tax credits (LIHTCs) and agency financing. 

Baxter and Miles both work closely with programmatic staff at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)/Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Fannie Mae.

“Both Robert and Ryan have developed and expanded high-quality relationships with the agencies we support and have served as key liaisons for our firm,” Lancaster Pollard CEO Nick Gesue said in a statement. “They play an essential role by keeping their fingers on the pulse of the various funding sources we provide our clients and helping our banks identify and expand on business opportunities as they arise.”

Bridges by EPOCH at Trumbull Names Samantha Nook Director of Community Relations

EPOCH Senior Living, a provider the offers independent and assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation and memory care housing options in the North East, has named Samantha Nook the director of community relations at Bridges by EPOCH at Trumbull, a new memory care assisted living community in Trumbull, Connecticut. 

Bridges by EPOCH is a joint development between the National Development of Newtown and EPOCH Senior Living of Waltham and was created to meet the needs of memory patients in a structured residential environment. 

In her role, Nook will head community education and outreach in addition to leading community tours and helping guide families and new residents through the process of transitioning into a memory care community. Nook has 18 years of marketing and advertising experience, including 15 years of management experience.

“I’m eager to educate families on how to keep their loved ones safe, while enjoying the enriching, engaging lifestyle found at Bridges by EPOCH,” Nook said in a statement.

East Ridge Hires Michael P. Callahan as New Facilities Manager

East Ridge at Cutler Bay, a SantaFe Senior Living Community that offers a continuum of care and independent living in Miami-Dade County, has named Michael P. Callahan as manager of facilities.

In this role, Callahan will oversee the plant operations department, including maintenance, grounds, security and transportation services. He will also oversee the staff of 25 people for the 76-acre community.

Callahan has ore than 25 years of experience working in the facilities management field and is a licensed general contractor. He was most recently a facility manager for Delaware North at Fort Lauderdale International Airport where he was responsible for the total functions of the department, including maintenance and construction of the restaurants and bars located in Terminal 3 and 4.

He has previously worked as the technical director and resident set and lighting design with Southward/South Center for the Arts and as director of facilities management and security with WPBT2. Callahan has also worked as the manager of facilities and supply chain asset protection, leading a team of security officers and maintenance staff with Macy’s Logistics and Operations.

Memory Care of New Braunfels Names Vivian Edwards as Executive Director

Memory Care of New Braunfels, a 64-unit memory care community dedicated to dementia residents currently under construction in New Braunfels, Texas, has named Vivian Edwards as executive director. The community is scheduled to open in late march 2016, and Edwards will oversee all aspects of its daily operation.

Edwards has more than 15 years of experience in the senior living market, with extensive work in the memory care field, having served as administrator at Colonial Gardens Alzheimer’s Assisted Living of Texas in Austin, a 36-bed Alzheimer personal care facility, and CIMA Hospice in San Antonio for nearly a decade. She was also head of community relations at Barton House Assisted Living Alzheimer Residence in San Antonio.

She has previously held sales and marketing positions for Blue Skies of Texas (previously known as Air Force Village I & II) in its filled nursing, health care and rehab, assisted living, Alzheimer’s and independent living units. Edwards also worked at both Sunrise Nursing and Rehabilitation and Paramount Rehabilitation and Nursing in San Antonio in marketing positions.
