Capital One Appoints New Senior Vice President to Seniors Housing and Healthcare Agency Lending Group

Capital One announced on Sept. 17 the appointment of Allison Holland as the company’s senior vice president to its Seniors Housing and Healthcare Agency Lending Group.

In her new role, Holland will serve as originations manager for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending. She will also be responsible for Capital One’s FHA and health care balance sheet lending business.

Previously, Holland was senior vice president for the Healthcare Mortgage Banking Group at KeyBank Real Estate Capital. She also served as an assistant vice president with Guaranty Bank.

“Allison is a superb addition to the Capital One Multifamily Finance team,” Grace Huebscher, president of Capital One Multifamily Finance, said in a prepared statement. “She brings invaluable experience, strong agency relationships and a track record of success in seniors housing and health care lending. We see tremendous opportunities ahead of us, and Allison will play an important role in delivering exceptional value to our clients.”

Maxwell Group Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

Retirement management firm Maxwell Group announced on Sept. 21 the promotion of Katie Huffstetler to chief operating officer for the company.

As COO, Huffstetler will be responsible for all aspects of operations for the company’s brands, including Senior Living Communities, Live Long Well Care and Wellmore. She will work with executive teams a the Charlotte, North Carolina-based office as well as within communities.

Huffstetler joined Maxwell Group in 2009 as director of public relations and has served in various other capacities, including interim executive director, vice president of operations and most recently as the executive vice president of operations.

“Katie is a valuable, energetic component of the senior management team,” Maxwell Group CEO Donald Thompson said in a prepared statement. “Her leadership, innovative ideas and continued stress on quality of service continues to drive our teams to tremendous success.”

The Goodman Group Names New National Director of Sales

The Goodman Group, a senior living and health care community developer and manager, announced on Sept. 15 the appointment of Tim Getty as the company’s national director of sales.

Getty rejoins to The Goodman Group with more than 25 years of experience in senior, most recently serving as vice president of senior living for Health Dimensions Group, a senior living and health care management and consulting firm. Prior to that, he worked for The Goodman Group as director of sales and marketing.

As national director of sales, Getty will be responsible for every aspect of sales for the 33 senior living and health care communities across eight states.

“We look forward to working with Tim, who has a wealth of knowledge in the industry,” said Craig Edinger, vice president of senior living and health care, in a news release. “He has championed many successful initiatives to effectively implement sales processes and motivate sales teams.”

Clinical Outcomes Management Systems Welcomes New CMS Director of Medical Affairs

Clinical Outcomes Management Systems (COMS Interactive), a provider of patient-centered outcomes and disease care management solutions in the post-acute market, has named Dr. Simon Mittal as director of medical affairs.

Mittal will work with the company’s clinical team and physician and nursing advisory boards to extend the clinical intelligence and applications systems within Daylight IQ, a clinical decision support software used in several assisted living facilities across the country. He will also act as an expert on disease care management and other relevant topics.

Previously, Mittal spent six years in the Army, where he earned the Surgeon General’s Award, and 10 years with the Mayo Clinic Health System.

Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute Names New Staff Member for Direct Federal Policy Program

Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute (PHI), a national nonprofit organization that aims to transform eldercare and disability services, has announced the hire of Daniel Rutherford Wilson as director of federal affairs.

Wilson joins the staff with more than 10 years of experience leading efforts to advance federal policy meant to help older Americans. Most recently, he served as the national and federal programs director at Compassion & Choices, an organization that looks to protect and expand end-of-life options. He also worked at the National Caucus and Center on Black Aged.

“We are delighted Daniel Wilson is joining PHI to represent the voices of direct-care workers in Washington and ensure that paid caregivers receive the compensation, training and supports they need to provide the quality of care we all deserve,” Robert Espinoza, PHI vice president of policy, said in a prepared statement. “Daniel’s wealth of experience and dedication to advocating for older Americans will be a tremendous asset to PHI’s renowned policy and research program.”

Linda Manor Assisted Living Names New Executive Director at Leeds, Massachusetts Facility

Linda Manor Assisted Living welcomes Emily Uguccioni as the Leeds, Massachusetts community’s new executive director.

Prior to joining the team at Linda Manor, Uguccioni worked as director of operations and services at Seabury Active Life Community in Bloomfield, Connecticut. She is also a member of the Education Conference Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.

Edgemere Senior Living Names New Head Chef at Dallas, Texas Community

Edgemere Senior Living has appointed Victor Jaime as the Dallas, Texas community’s new head chef.

Jaime previously served as executive chef for the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas. He joins the Edgemere team with more than 22 years of experience in developing menu selections for four- and five-star hotels, resorts and restaurants in the United States, Mexico and France.

In his new role with Edgemere, Jaime will be responsible for menu planning, ensuring food quality, catering events and hiring and managing the culinary staff.

“I am very excited to be a part of the team at Edgemere,” Jaime said in a news release. “I am experienced in preparing unique fare influenced by culturally diverse regions around the globe, and I look forward to bringing my own flair to Edgemere while providing the fine dining experience residents look forward to each and every day.”

Massachusetts Governor Appoints New Chairman of Boston-Based Affordable Housing Agency MassHousing

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker has appointed Michael J. Dirrane as chairman of MassHousing, an affordable housing agency based in Boston.

Dirrane is the senior managing director and chief sales officer at National Mortgage Insurance Corporation, a subsidiary of NMI Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: NMIH). He was first named to the MassHousing board in 1993, making him the longest-serving board member in the agency’s history, and previously served as chairman from 1995 to 2009.

“It is a great honor to be asked by Gov. Baker to once again lead one of the top housing agencies in the country,” Dirrane said in a news release. “I remain enthusiastic about the agency’s mission, as affordable housing programs play an important role in the housing market.”
