Primrose Retirement Community Names Executive Director

Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka, Ind., has announced that Wendy White has been named executive director.  

White, who began her duties on Nov. 17, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

She has worked in the geriatric health field for more than 30 years, serving as a human resource manager, marketing director and executive director in both independent and skilled living environments. 

Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka/South Bend is expected to open in summer 2015. The community will consist of 36 independent living, 40 assisted living apartment homes and eight independent living townhome villas.

CNL Financial Group Hires Vice President of Acquisitions

CNL Financial Group has hired Scott McCorvie as vice president of acquisitions. 

McCorvie has experience working with senior housing and health care real estate and will continue to focus his efforts on acquisitions in those markets. 

Prior to joining CNL, McCorvie was manager of investments at Sentio Investments LLC, where he served as an advisor to the company’s health care real estate investment trust (REIT). He also worked as a consultant for HealthTrust LLC, a national health care real estate advisory firm. 

“CNL remains committed to investing in senior housing communities and healthcare and we are delighted to add Scott’s deep experience and passion for this area to our team,” said John McRae, managing director of investments for CNL Financial Group, in a statement. “He has a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of these types of facilities because of the role they play in personal care and well-being.”

Berkeley Point Capital Expands Financing Team  

Matt Naish joins Berkeley Point Capital LLC as director of Affordable Housing Finance. 

In this role, Naish works with the full range of Federal Housing Administration (FHA) lending, including senior housing. 

He will operate out of the firm’s newly established San Francisco office, developing strategic partnerships and providing borrowers with the company’s wide spectrum of products and capital solutions.

During his tenure at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Naish held a variety of positions. Most recently, he was senior advisor to the deputy assistant secretary for Multifamily Housing Programs, leading teams in the development and implementation of a variety of national policy, programmatic and reorganization initiatives. 

His experience includes expertise in the preservation of affordable housing, FHA multifamily product lines, asset and risk management, process improvement, and organizational development.

Prior to his role as senior advisor, Naish served as the director of project management for the San Francisco Multifamily Hub, heading up business lines in Affordable Housing Preservation, Asset and Risk Management, and Operations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii, encumbering a portfolio of 3,000 FHA insured and/or subsidized properties.

4 New Hires Join Mainstreet’s Growing Team  

Mainstreet, the nation’s largest developer of post-acute health care properties, has announced the latest hires to its team. 

Charissa Birnbaum is Mainstreet’s newest administrative assistant. She comes to Mainstreet from Pine Cove Camps in Texas. She is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University and studied psychology and fine art.

Randy Henry has joined Mainstreet as the new director of investor relations. His previous experience includes two years as chief financial officer at Temp Control Services and 14 years at Duke Realty, where he also served as director of investor relations. He graduated from Indiana University. 

Michael Kessler is Mainstreet’s new information technology director. Most recently he worked at Indiana University Health Tipton Hospital as the director of information services. Kessler is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and studied electronics and computer engineering technology. 

Michael Viscusi has joined Mainstreet as the new senior associate of capital markets. He comes to Mainstreet from Hatteras Funds, where he served as a senior portfolio analyst. Prior to Hatteras Funds, Viscusi was an associate vice president at Aspen Partners, an alternative investment firm. He earned a B.A. from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Foulkeways Retirement Community Names Director of Resident Services

Deb Santoro has been named director of resident services at Foulkeways at Gwynedd in Pennsylvania. This new position will be a support resource for residents, from move-in going forward. 

Santoro brings to the position experience in the hospitality industry, including corporate-level experience in the food service industry, staff development and leadership roles for several management organizations, most recently as director of talent management for Eat’nPark Hospitality Group.

She has spent the majority of her career in the senior living industry, and serves as a board member for the Greater Harleysville and North Penn Senior Services, an organization that oversees Encore Experiences and The Peak Center Senior Centers.
