Religious Senior Living Dominate Non-profit Sector

The vast majority of the largest nonprofit senior living organizations are faith-based organizations, according to the latest research from the LeadingAge Ziegler 100 Publication.

Of the 84% nonprofit senior living providers that are faith-based, Presbyterian, Methodist and Lutheran affiliations are the most common among the largest 100 organizations.

Just 13% of nonprofit providers have no affiliation, and even less have a fraternal or military affiliation, at 2% and 1% respectively.

In addition, 51.8% of all the continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in the country are faith-based, according to data from the Ziegler National CCRC Profile & Listing.
