CarDon & Associates Planning $17.6M Assisted Living Expansion
Bloomington, Indiana-based CarDon & Associates is planning a $17.6 million expansion of its assisted living community in Fishers, IN, reports Indianapolis Business Journal.
Plans call for CarDon & Associates to add a second phase of assisted living apartments and 18 cottages to The Reserve at Hamilton Trace
Fishers Town Council even agreed to waive up to $300,000 in development fees to encourage CarDon to accelerate construction, according to IBJ.
As part of the fee-waiver requirement, CarDon is to begin “moving dirt” no later than August 1, and have construction “substantially” finished by mid-September 2015.
Rezoning Approved for New Kansas Assisted Living Development
The City Commission of Fort Scott, Kansas, this week approved rezoning for a new assisted living development by Neighborhood Senior Living, Inc., reports The Fort Scott Tribune.
The new development, according to Neighborhood Senior Living, will provide a total investment of about $5.5 million in the community.
Proposed project plans detail 42 suites among the three-building development, one of which will include 26 suites for assisted living within a 17,436-square-feet structure, while the two memory care residences would each contain approximately 4,200-square-feet.

Smith/Packett Break Ground on $24M Project in Suffolk, VA
Roanoke, Virginia-based senior housing developer Smith/Packett has recently broken ground on a $24 million community in Harbour View that will include independent, assisted living and memory care, reports Suffolk News-Herald.
Project plans call for 175 independent, assisted living and memory care rental apartments, as well as amenities including a dining room, library, computer lab, fitness center, theater, pub, arts and crafts studio, beauty/barber shop and walking trails.
Smith/Packett expects the project will open summer 2015.
Brightview, PROCON Team on $16M Assisted Living Project in Conn.
Shelter Development and PROCON of Manchester, New Hampshire, will construct a $16 million assisted living project in Norwalk, Connecticut, that will be operated by Brightview Senior Living upon completion, reports Boston Business Times.
Brightview Norwalk will feature 90 units, including 66 apartments for assisted living and 24 memory care apartments.
The three-story, 70,000-square-foot community will also offer a number of amenities, which include an “elegant” dining room, a private dining room, café, wellness/fitness center, activities room, beauty/barber salon, library room and outdoor patios.
Shelter Development is the developer of the project, while PROCON is the architect and construction manager.
The community is scheduled to be completed in August 2015.
Provision Living Underway on $20 Million Assisted Living Construction
St. Louis-based Provision Living recently broke ground on a new $20 million assisted living community in Columbia, Missouri, reports Connect Mid Missouri.
Situated on 10 acres, the development will consist of 70 assisted living units and 30 units of memory care, with the potential for an additional 80 units to be added in future phases.
Provision expects an opening for the Columbia community, which has yet to be named, of July 2015.
The Goodman Group Tops Out New Florida Memory Care Project
Chaska, Minnesota-based The Goodman Group reached a milestone last week with the topping out of a new memory care building on the campus of one of its Florida communities, Villa at Terracina Grand in Naples.
The two-story, 55-apartment structure is developed and managed by JBG Design & Development and will accommodate up to 60 residents requiring memory care services.
Upon completion, the new residence will provide the community’s unique dementia program called Pearls of Life, which uses integrative therapies such as the use of plants and oil aromatherapy, as well as the impacts of music and art, to engage a resident’s sense and provide comfort and relief.
Floor plans for the new residence include studio apartments, friendship suites and one-bedroom apartments.
Other project partners induce Naples-based DeAngelis Diamond as general contractor and HKS Architects.
Project completion is slated for January 2015.

Belmont Village Opens Austin-Area Assisted Living Community
A little more than a year after breaking ground in the Austin, Texas suburb of West Lake Hills, Belmont Village Senior Living is now moving residents into its newest community, reports Austin Business Journal.
The Belmont Village West Lake Hills community includes 141 private studio and one-bedroom apartments, with leasing starting at $4,500 per month.
