Caremerge-LCS Partnership Brings Community Social Network to Senior Living

Mobile care coordination platform Caremerge is partnering with top-10 senior living Life Care Services to roll out a new social network with built in health and wellness capabilities across its communities.

The new solution, coined Community Social, provides independent living and assisted living with the ability to launch an online social network, while enabling providers to coordinate care through the same platform.

It will roll out in select LCS-managed communities before launching across its entire community base.

Families and residents can access Caremerge Community Social via its mobile platform on computers or handheld devices. Staff, too, can access the network to provide care-related insight and information such as wellness metrics and feedback. Community management can also utilized the platform to provide residents’ information on dining, activities, reminders and other community-based notices.

The impact on a community is threefold, Caremerge says in announcing the launch. It allows residents to connect with their peers who share similar interests, hobbies or other commonalities. That might include blogging, uploading photos or videos or participating in forms on various topic.

Second, families and friends can interact via the network to share multimedia and ongoing interaction.

Third, care providers can access the network to provide care-related updates to residents and their families to better meet wellness goals.

“We are extremely excited to bring Community Social to the market and to be partnering with Life Care Services ” said Asif Khan, Founder and CEO of Chicago-based Caremerge. “Not only will Community Social forge new and meaningful connections among residents, staff, and family members, but will also allow communities to eventually serve their residents holistically by tying seniors’ social, behavior and wellness. By identifying trends and understanding the impact of residents’ social behaviors and day-to-day activities and vice versa, communities can be more proactive about initiating appropriate and effective resident services and activities.”

Life Care Services noted the innovative approach Caremerge brings to Community Social and to the LCS network, with 118 properties nationwide.

“At LCS we are always interested in bringing high-quality, innovative solutions to communities managed by Life Care Services,” said Elizabeth Bush, Senior VP, Senior Housing Marketing and Sales, LCS. “Partnering with an award-winning technology company, like Caremerge, allows us to bring a fresh, new perspective and solution set to residents and communities. We are excited to get started with Community Social to support the lifestyle residents expect while improving operational efficiencies within the communities.”
