Monroe Village Names Brenden Garozzo New Executive Director

Monroe Village, a Springpoint Senior Living community in Monroe Township, recently welcomed Brenden Garozzo as its new executive director. Garozzo’s responsibilities include overseeing Monroe Village’s daily operations as well as services provided to the community’s 347 residents. Additionally, he will provide leadership to a team of more than 200 employees.

Garozzo previously served as assistant executive director for the community in the late 1990s and is well-known to many staff and residents here. He has more than 19 years of senior living experience and has previously worked with Cadbury Senior Services, Friends Village at Woodstown and also with Springpoint in years past as the executive director at the Haddonfield Home. Most recently, he was very successful in representing Springpoint as the managing director of the Masonic Home of NJ during Springpoint’s five-year management agreement with them.

A resident of Mickleton, Garozzo is a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA), a certified assisted living administrator (CALA) and a retirement housing professional (RHP). He holds a master’s degree in administration, a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an associate’s degree in applied science/nursing.

Heidi Brown Named CEO of Kobernick-Anchin-Benderson Senior Living Community

The Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Housing Council Inc. has named Heidi Brown to be CEO of the Kobernick-Anchin-Benderson senior living community, effective April 30.

In that capacity, Brown will oversee the entire senior living campus, which includes independent living, an assisted living facility, a secure memory care unit, a nursing home and a rehabilitation care center. She will also work with the council’s boards on a planned expansion, and on building donor relationships.

Brown brings more than 17 years of experience in senior living communities in the Washington, D.C., area to her new position.

Brown received a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and an undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. Additionally, she is a certified assisted living manager.

Nor-Son Adds New Vice President of Architecture, Planning and Consulting

Brian Lubben, AIA, CID, is Nor-Son’s new Vice President of Architecture, Planning and Consulting. Based out of the Wayzata office, he will be engaged and support all four Nor-Son locations.

Lubben brings more than 25 years of expertise in architecture, development, and consulting. He is highly skilled in the areas of project feasibility, master planning, building design, project management, and construction administration and has completed healthcare, senior living, hospitality, and mixed-use projects for clients across the globe. He is well-versed in owner representation, lender representation, due diligence, building condition, forensic studies and solutions, entitlements, and peer architect review.

Prior to joining Nor-Son, Lubben was responsible for capital project management on large healthcare, senior living and institutional projects around the United States. Most recently, he managed the development, design and construction of a $40 million hospital expansion in the Twin Cities.

Lubben is a graduate of Iowa State University and lives in Minnetonka.

Gentiva Promotes David Causby to President and COO

Gentiva Health Services, Inc. (Nasdaq:GTIV) announced recently that David Causby will assume the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. Causby currently serves as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer and will assume the responsibilities of President consistent with his operating responsibilities.

Causby became EVP, Chief Operating Officer in October 2013. He was previously President of the Home Health Division since 2011. He joined Gentiva in 2003 and most recently served as the Senior VP of Operations for the Home Health Division. He previously held various other positions at Gentiva, including VP of Operations for the Home Health Division, VP of Operations for the Western Region, and VP of Operations for the Carolinas Region.

MBK Senior Living Names Danielle Morgan Chief Operations Officer

MBK Senior Living announced recently the promotion of Danielle Morgan to chief operations officer. In this role, Morgan will have increased oversight of all MBK day-to-day operations as well as play a key role in the strategic direction of MBK’s ongoing growth.

Over the course of her career, Morgan has served in various leadership roles within the senior living industry. She has managed a large portfolio of senior living communities as well as the development of a significant number of new communities.

Morgan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Long Term Health Care from Ohio University, and a Master of Business Administration from The Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. She currently serves as secretary on the Board of Directors for the California Assisted Living Association and maintains a Nursing Home Administrator license.

Grant Goodman Joins Los Angeles Office of Lancaster Pollard

Grant Goodman has joined the Los Angeles office of the specialty investment banking and mortgage banking firm Lancaster Pollard as vice president. He will be responsible for the Northern California and Nevada markets.

Before joining Lancaster Pollard, Goodman had underwritten transactions in excess of $100 million. He led the California region at GE Capital, Healthcare Financial Services. Prior to that role, Goodman oversaw capital originations for GE’s Corporate Finance business, where he was responsible for structuring, managing and executing finance transactions throughout Arizona and Nevada. He started his career in community banking, lending to local mid-market enterprises for real estate, working capital and equipment projects.

Goodman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego.

Keelson Harbour Senior Living Welcomes New Executive Director

Keelson Harbour Senior Living, a Vista Prairie community, recently welcomed Jean Greeley as Executive Direcor. Greeley brings significant experience in senior care to Keelson Harbour, most recently having spent the past eight years as Executive Director at Prairie Hills in Fairfield, Iowa.

During her time at Prairie Hills, Greeley managed the construction of its senior living facility and led the community’s expansion from 50 units to 74 units where she reached and maintained 100% occupancy within two years of the expansion’s opening. Greeley’s appointment is a clear indication of the goals and expectations Vista Prairie has set for Keelson Harbour.

As Executive Director, Greeley will oversee a community that provides 66 assisted living and memory care apartments to Spirit Lake seniors. She will be responsible for the overall services and activities at the campus including hiring, supervising and training staff, family services, resident well-being, and regulatory compliance. Greeley will also play a critical role in bringing Keelson Harbour’s new addition to completion and stabilizing its occupancy.

MDI Achieve Appoints New SVP of Research & Development, CTO

MatrixCare, an EHR provider for long-term care and senior living industry, recently announced the appointment of Joseph L. Weber as its Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer.

Weber brings more than 20 years of global healthcare product development and strategic planning expertise, embedded systems and medical device expertise, and product portfolio management experience at such companies as Haemonetics, Boston Scientific, Emageon, and KPMG.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Marquette University. He is a published author of international best sellers on Java development and is a frequent national speaker on innovation, Java, and product excellence.

Remedi SeniorCare Names Jeff Stamps CEO

Remedi SeniorCare recently announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Jeffrey Stamps, R.Ph. as Chief Executive Officer. Stamps has more than 30 years of experience in the institutional pharmacy industry.

Prior to joining Remedi, he held multiple roles of increasing responsibility with Omnicare, Inc. from 1990 to 2012, including most recently serving as Executive Vice President and President of Long-Term Care Operations, where he led operations of the long-term care pharmacy division with pharmacies servicing facilities in 47 states and annual revenues in excess of $5 billion across North America. Stamps succeeds Michael Bronfein, who remains Chairman of Remedi SeniorCare.

Stamps received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati, and is a licensed pharmacist.

Commonwealth Assisted Living Hires New VP of Operations

Assisted living and memory care provider Commonwealth Assisted Living LLC recently announced Charles Ix as its new vice president of operations, a necessary move as the company continues to expand.

Ix has been with Commonwealth Assisted Living since 2010, initially as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and most recently as President of their Stay at Home Personal Care division.

Commonwealth’s executive team realized Ix’s performance and depth of company knowledge, coupled with his background of being a professional athlete and coach, gave a unique twist to his leadership style.

The company also announced a culture change for how communities are managed. Executive directors are now considered “CEO” of their community. The front line employees are empowered to make decisions and suggestions for improvements where they see fit.

CRC Names Ruth Grande Executive Director at The Samarkand

Covenant Retirement Communities has named Ruth Grande the executive director at The Samarkand, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community it operates.

Grande is responsible for all operations at the senior living community, which serves 360 residents in 205 residential living apartments, 53 assisted living apartments, 16 memory support assisted living apartments, and a 63-bed Medicare-approved skilled nursing center.

The new executive director brings more the 25 years of senior-level management experience in the hospitality and senior living industry to her new position. Before joining The Samarkand, Grande was Southern California regional general manager for Aegis Living.

A graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minn., Grande continued her education at Stanford University’s Continuing Education Executive Programs, Palo Alto, Calif. She also completed the Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management program through Cornell University, ECornell.
