$28 Million Assisted Living and Memory Care Complex Coming to California

A new $28 million assisted living and memory care complex is coming to Bakersfield, California, as developers intend to break ground February 2014, The Bakersfield Californian reports.

Seven Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care is expected to open its doors in late 2014 or early 2015 to seniors at least 62 years of age, according to Frontier Management, who will be developing the property.

The six-acre campus will debut with its $10 million, 48-bed live-in memory care building that will be about 29,000 square feet. 

Two years later, Frontier plans to build a $15 million two-story assisted living residence with 60 beds, at approximately 62,000 square feet.

New Perspective Senior Living Plans $15 Million Assisted Living Project in Fargo, ND

New Perspective Senior Living is pursuing plans to build a $15 million assisted living and memory care community in West Fargo, North Dakota, reports Prairie Business.

The Lighthouse of West Fargo, as the project has been dubbed, calls for 130,000-square-feet of housing containing 120-130 apartment units.

Amenities include a wellness center, massage center, libraries and barber/beauty salon. 

RND Development, LLC, a New Perspective Senior Living affiliate, has land under contract and is moving forward with development pending completion of its due diligence with a senior living community in the city of Glendale, Wisconsin. 

New Perspective intends to begin construction in early 2014, with a completion date of sometime in early 2015.

New $5.5 Million Senior Living Project Planned for Wisconsin

Superior, Wisconsin will soon have a new senior living facility pending approval from the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, Northland’s News Center reports.

The $5.5 million project will have 50 units to be funded through a community development block grant, catering to the area’s low income seniors. 

Construction is expected to begin summer 2014.

Emeritus Breaks Ground on Massachusetts Assisted Living Community

Emeritus at East Longmeadow, a new assisted living community, will open its doors spring 2014 in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. 

The community will feature 103 new apartments, with floor plans ranging from studios to deluxe one-bedroom suites. Additionally, the community’s Friendship Suites will allow two residents to share an apartment and enjoy cost savings. 

Emeritus also intends to offer a memory care neighborhood to the community that will have its own dining room, living room and kitchen. 

A $1,000 refundable deposit will allow residents the chance to priority-select their new home.

Development costs associated for the project were not disclosed.

Houston Luxury Retirement Community Nears Opening for Independent Living Addition

The Abbey at Westminster Plaza Luxury Retirement Community announced a new addition of independent living will open for January 2014 in West Houston.

The family-owned community currently offers assisted living and memory care, with the additional 144 independent living units now under construction. 

Units will range in size from 800 to 1,600 square feet and will feature granite countertops, full kitchens, washer and dryer, wood floors, ceramic tile and crown molding. 

Amenities include three meals a day, weekly housekeeping and linen service, transportation, parking garage, movie theatre, sports lounge, dog park, among others.

This master-planned community for senior adults was developed by Founder’s Commercial, Ltd.

California Community Opens Memory Care Wing

The Terraces of Los Gatos is opening its doors to The Grove, a new memory support residence in Los Gatos, California. 

The new addition, which is part of the community’s $4.7 million expansion, is a home setting with 16 private suites. 

The community is also centered around The Best Friends Approach, a program designed by David Troxel, MPH, an expert in the field of dementia, which focuses on building relationships with residents based on individual life stories and experiences. 

The grand opening and open house is scheduled for November 5.

The Terraces of Los Gatos retirement community is managed by ABHOW, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, serving seniors through retirement housing since 1949.

Developers Open New Senior Living Community in Lexington, KY

Chattanooga-based Morning Pointe Senior Care and Independent Healthcare Properties announced the grand opening of Morning Pointe of Lexington-East, a new senior living community in Lexington, Kentucky, The Chattanoogan reports.

Morning Pointe of Lexington-East marks the second community for Morning Pointe in the city, while a third—a memory care community—is set to open next month.

The $9 million community features 53 personal care apartments, with an additional 20 apartments located in the memory care wing that will be opening in November. 

The 55,000-square-foot community is located on 10 acres near medical services and other support networks.
