Being that both of them are on a fixed income, I think a lot of these items might be beyond their reach and it's a shame since some of them, especially the wireless diabetes meter, sound like they could really help. So far, my mother and I have only thought on the small scale -- we bought each of them a specially designed senior cell phone from SVC that comes with a special 911 locating feature. It's not much right now, but it is affordable and I think it's a good start.
