Leaders Celebrate Groundbreaking of New Minnesota Senior Center & Housing Project

Last month, national and local community leaders celebrated the groundbreaking for the Harmony River Living Project, a new 138 bed senior care facility in Hutchinson, Minnesota.  The funding for the project came from the USDA’s Community Facilities program that provided $13.3 million and included a $5 million guaranty of a loan made through Agstar Rural Capital.  The project, located on 64 acres, had additional funding through location community donations and will replace the community’s current senior care center.

“It’s an amazing commitment on the community’s part that made this project happen,” said Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager. “This shows how public-private partnerships go a long ways in developing our rural communities.”
