The Amsterdam at Harborside Names Executive Director

Gina D’Angelo has been hired as executive director at The Amsterdam at Harborside.  D’Angelo comes to The Amsterdam with extensive senior living experience, in working with progressive communities on the East Coast, most recently serving as regional director of operations with oversight of eight mid-size to large senior living and skilled communities. D’Angelo’s more than 27 years in senior living and health care includes experience both in sales and operations for single and multi-site community sponsors. Early in her career, D’Angelo served in the military as a Naval Nurse Corps officer at Bethesda Naval Hospital, in Bethesda, Md.

D’Angelo received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wheeling Jesuit University, in Wheeling, W. Va. She also earned a master of business administration degree from the John Hopkins School of Business, in Baltimore, Md. D’Angelo is a licensed registered nurse and nursing home administrator.

Simon J. Samaha, M.D., Appointed Public Member of New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority

Simon J. Samaha, M.D., recently was confirmed by the New Jersey State Senate as one of two new public members of the board of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority (The Authority).  Dr. Samaha is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Medical Group, New Jersey’s largest independently-operated, multispecialty medical practice. Dr. Samaha has extensive experience in strategic and fiscal planning, operations, business development, and information systems. Prior to joining Summit, Dr. Samaha spent a large part of his professional career in various roles of successive responsibility at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, culminating with the roles of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, in which he oversaw the 375-member University Physicians Practice. His tenure at Cooper includes his designation as Acting Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer/Vice President of Information Technology. Dr. Samaha continues his interest in this expertise as a member of the New Jersey Health Information Technology Commission. Dr. Samaha earned his M.B.A. at New York University Stern School of Business, New York, N.Y., his M.S. in Information Systems at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pa., and his M.D. at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon. He is board certified in internal medicine and practiced in internal medicine until 2004. He resides in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Windemere Park Announces New Director

Windemere Park, a Senior Community in Warren, Michigan offering Independent and Assisted Living has announced that Rhonda Diamond has been promoted to Community Activity Director after serving as the Director of Activities for Assisted Living for two years.

Watermere at Southlake Names Jane Perry as Sales Executive

Jane Perry has been named sales executive of Watermere at Southlake, Southlake’s first and only master-planned development for homeowners aged 55 plus. The announcement was made by Craig Spaulding, partner, Southlake Watermark Holdings LP.  Perry previously served as the director of marketing of Isle at Watermere, the assisted living community on the Watermere at Southlake campus. During her tenure at Isle at Watermere, the occupancy rate reached 75 percent in the first year.   Before joining Watermere at Southlake, Perry was previously employed as sales and marketing counselor for Casa de Las Campanas, a continuing care retirement community located in Rancho Bernardo, California, and managed by Life Care Services.

Perry earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. After teaching school for five years, she entered the retirement industry in Southern California. She is married to Hank Perry and has two children and five grandchildren. Perry enjoys music, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She has been a member of the P.E.O. for more than 30 years and is a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas.
