Faulkner Design Completes Interior Design Work At South Carolina Senior Living Community

June 10th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Faulkner Design Group, an interior design firm specializing in senior living properties,  announced that it has completed interior design services at The Woodlands at Furman, an independent senior living community located in Greenville, South Carolina.  The community provides a continuum of care with an elegant flair as the inspiration for the interiors came from traditional southern homes and regional characteristics including the architecture on the Furman University campus.  Faulkner Design Group’s experienced Senior Living Design Team of Stacy Peters and Claudine Begay oversaw the design of the $55 million community which features 132 independent living residences, 32 assisted living apartments, 30 skilled nursing suites and 16 memory support suites.  Greystone Communities was the developer of The Woodlands at Furman with Perkins + Will serving as architect and Brasfield and Gorey serving as the general contractor.

“We were so excited to get to work on a community where we could expand upon a beautifully executed establishment like Furman University,” said Adrienne Faulkner, president of Faulkner Design Group.  “The existing area is so classically lovely that we really wanted to complement the design and remain in keeping with the rich and lush grounds and feel of the property.”

As an up and coming senior myself, it is encouraging to see design firms step outside the box and work with the educational community. This project seems to be a win-win situation for both the seniors in the area and Furman University. Everyone has to look for opportunities in this economy to stay viable and Faulkner seems to have hit on something here. Congratulations and keep up the good work. L. Hill-Reichert
