Serena Senior Care Announces Consulting Services for Development of Senior Housing Projects In Mexico

February 4th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Serena Senior Care recently announced its new consulting services for new Senior Living developments in Mexico that focuses on providing advice to investors looking to server the retirement living market in Mexico.  With an estimated 1.1 million US retirees and estimates showing over 10 million migrating to retire in Mexico over the next 10 years, Serena Senior Care will provide advice to real-estate investors on how to develop Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Independent and Assisted Living, Dementia Care, and Nursing Care facilities in Mexico. Services include site analysis, market research, market feasibility, business plan development, architectural planning and design, project management, identifying and negotiating financing sources, and “Turn Key” Start-Up services. For selected engagements, Serena will partner with Moore Diversified Services and Rees Associates, Inc. an architecture, planning and interior design firm.

Mexico is considered the number one retirement destination for the second year in a row according to “International Living Magazine”. New communities in Mexico are developing specialized services and infrastructure for retirees such as San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Chapala, Jalisco and Rosarito/Ensenada, Baja California. One of the key elements contributing to the growth of retirement communities is the excellent health care at affordable prices offered in Mexico.

As Mexican and International investors are in the planning phases to take advantage of this growing trend, the Serena Senior Care team and where appropriate together with Rees Associates and Moore Diversified Services, have structured a unique package of consulting services that will help developers understand the opportunities and challenges associated with Senior Living communities. “This is a new industry in Mexico,” explained Flavio Olivieri, CEO of Serena Senior Care, “Resort and Housing developers are interested in this new market, and are eager to learn how to design, market and operate successful projects; our consulting program will provide them with the tools to be successful”.

Mexico has long been the destination for retirees, but it looks like their senior care services are slowly catching up. It will be interesting to see how Mexico’s senior care programs progress. Thanks for this important resource!

    This is good information.

Also, ABC World News Tonight recently reported that many retirees going to Mexico for assisted living care.

The article “Retirees Flock South of the Border for Savings; Mexico Offers Full-Time Assisted Living Developments at Half the Price”, by Jeffrey Kofman, reports on nursing home care in Mexico.

Costs in Mexican nursing homes for comparable US care facilities are frequently one third.
