For certain low income seniors in San Franscisco, California, they are receiving the opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy the fruits of living in the Mission Bay area at outrageously low rents in comparison to comparable properties in the Bay Area. The Mission Creek Senior Community building, which fronts Mission Creek Estuary, is a subsidized housing complex run by Mercy Housing California. The project includes solar panels and was constructed using some recycled material and has won a number of awards, includinga Boston Society of Architects’ award for socially responsible housing.
